Have you ever wondered what regret tastes like? The folks at Slater’s 50/50 certainly have, and that’s why they concocted the ” ‘merica Burger” which consists of a patty made of 100% ground bacon. It’s said that just one bite is enough to kill a Shih Tzu.
Southern California burger chain, Slater’s 50/50, has unveiled its most horrifying menu item yet. Dubbed THE ‘MERICA, the burger not only consists of a 100% bacon patty, but also Slater’s original “Bacon Island” dressing, a slice of bacon cheddar cheese, and, of course, a nice big strip of bacon. It is only available during the month of July to celebrate our nation’s independence. If you don’t order one, the terrorists win!
Let’s just do some basic math here. Let’s say you order the 2/3 lb bacon patty (roughly 302.4 grams). In one 11.34 gram strip of bacon, there are roughly 4.8 grams of fat. Divide the 302.4 grams by 11.34 grams and we can estimate that there are about 26.67 strips of bacon in a 100% bacon patty. 26.67 strips at 4.8 grams of fat each gives us a 302.4 gram patty with a fat content somewhere in the ballpark of 128 grams of fat or 0.28 lbs of fat. This is nearly double the amount recommended for one day by the USDA in the 2/3 lb patty alone. But, of course, you could opt for the full pound patty. God bless America!
