A matchmaker canceled a client despite both people wanting a second date as the man made one vital mistake: ‘he kept asking’
A matchmaker on TikTok claims she canceled a pair’s second date for one important reason. In a video reenacting the phone call she allegedly had with one of her employees, matchmaker Emily Lyons claims she canceled the man’s membership after he tried to push his date into something she didn’t want to do, despite her saying no.
Emily Lyons is a TikToker and a businesswoman. She claims to have “Built 5 companies” and spent “12 years inside thousands of love lives,” and now she’s sharing her stories via TikTok.
Lyons lists three of the businesses she founded: Lyons Elite Matchmaking, femmefatalemedia, and True Glue. The entrepreneur’s matchmaking business provides the most interesting stories, and the businesswoman/influencer has taken to reenacting real phone calls with clients and employees for entertainment purposes.

In one video, Lyons reenacted a phone call with one of her employees where they were discussing two clients who had met through Lyons’ matchmaking business. The employee told Lyons that both clients had expressed a desire to meet again for a second date, but Lyons disagreed and told the employee not to organize it.
“But they both gave amazing feedback,” Lyons’ employee responded. “I know,” Lyons said before asking her employee, “What happened when she said she wasn’t ready to go home with him?” The employee caught on and realized what the issue was: “He kept asking.”
Lyons asked how many times the woman refused to go home with her date, and the employee answered, “She said three or four times,” to which Lyons said, “There’s your answer.”
When questioned on her decision to stop two adults who apparently both want to see each other from doing so, Lyons explained her reasoning: “I’m not telling her who she can date; she’s an adult, I’m just not gonna put our name behind the introduction again.” Lyons was then told the man would likely tell them they were overreacting and that he might want to cancel his membership, but the businesswoman seemed unbothered.
Most viewers agreed with the call made by Lyons, calling out the man’s concerning behavior. Others called out the employee’s poor judgment when it came to assessing the situation: “Fire that employee. Ridiculous. She doesn’t care about women,” wrote one commenter.
Another explained why Lyons likely canceled the second date, as it would create a “legal liability” for them as they became aware of the predatory behavior. “Yeah, I wouldn’t put my company behind a potential SA, either,” wrote another.
