Days After the Trump Administration Permitted Tariff-free Argentine Beef Into the U.S., 30,000 Pounds Are Being Urgently Recalled

Over the past week, tensions among netizens grew after the Trump administration confirmed plans to allow tariff-free beef, including from Argentina, into America to bring down prices. American cattle ranchers pushed back, citing quality-control issues and an inability to compete in a market they fear could put them at a disadvantage.
Many lawmakers also spoke out against the issue, including President Trump’s former bestie Marjorie Taylor Greene, Senator Deb Fischer, and Senator Pete Ricketts. For those unaware, this isn’t the first time the country has hiked beef exports to meet expectations. A similar step was taken once in February of this year as well.
Now it’s confirmed that Texas and Florida have recalled roughly 30,000 pounds of Argentine-imported beef due to serious quality issues. Times Now reported that the recalled products originated from Corte Argentino USA LLC, a Florida-based company that imported beef from Argentinian firm Frigorifico Gorina SAIC.
Experts advise caution
The US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) lists five boneless beef products from Frigorifico Gorina SAIC that Corte Argentino USA LLC recalled from the market with immediate effect. These are Top Sirloin Butt (“Cuadril Sin Tapa”), Topside Cap Off (“Nalga AD S/Tapa”), Flat (“Carnaza Cuadrada”), Eye Round (“Peceto”), and Knuckle (“Bola de Lomo”). The article further noted that the recalled products bore the establishment number “EST. N° OF. 2025” and the shipping mark “26644-AA.”
The FSIS has stated that “There have been no confirmed reports of illness or injury due to consumption of these products.” However, they urge that “anyone concerned about an illness or injury should contact a healthcare provider,” and add: “FSIS is concerned that some product may be in consumers’ refrigerators and freezers. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.”
Trump has plans to import 300,000 metric tons of “product for ground beef”
In a Truth Social post on August 21, 2026, Trump notified that he had concluded a deal to considerably reduce the prices of ground beef for “working American families.” Highlighting how the beef industry suffered a setback during the Biden administration, Trump wrote, “As we work to rebuild this herd and help our ranchers, for the next 90 days, the United States will allow up to 300,000 metric tons of product for ground beef to be imported with no out of quota tariff.”
He also noted that America received a commitment from exporters that the imported beef would be priced 25 percent below current market rates. This reduction, he argued, would lower prices for Americans and allow the growth of our Great American Beef Herd. This move marks Trump’s latest effort to save the American beef economy after it suffered substantially last year.
