‘Put Americans First’: Marjorie Taylor Greene Has a Strong Message for Trump as He Seemingly Prioritizes Argentinian Cattlemen Over American Farmers
Clearly, she hasn't forgotten the disrespect Trump sent her way.
The friendship between President Donald Trump and former House Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene was one of the most dramatic break-ups in modern political history. Once considered one of Trump’s most vocal supporters and a major force in his 2025 re-election bid, Greene has transformed into one of his strongest critics.
Recently, it was announced that Trump would allow more tariff-free beef into America, including from Argentina, in an effort to bring down costs. The news has caused immense anxiety among American cattle producers, who have raised questions about the quality of imported beef and concerns about competition that could put locally sourced beef at a disadvantage.
Marjorie Taylor Greene wrote on X, “In 2025, Trump bailed out Argentina with $20 billion dollars currency swap. Now Trump is going to buy 300,000 metric tons of ground beef apparently from Argentina undercutting the American cattlemen. Trump claims Argentina is dying and they need the help. Actually it’s the American cattle industry that is suffering and dying with an average of 77 cattle producers going out of business every day. Put Americans FIRST!!!”
American cattle ranches are unhappy with the prospect of Trump importing beef
After cattle ranchers suffered significantly under Trump’s stringent tariff policies last year, they are ringing alarm bells once again over what Trump has said he intends to do with the sector. In a Truth Social post, Trump said he plans to import 300,000 metric tons of duty-free ground beef, which he will sell at “25 percent below current market prices.”
Following the news Colin Woodall, CEO of the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, said (as per Roll Call News) that his body was “disappointed” by it: “While America’s cattle producers share the goal of keeping groceries affordable for consumers, flooding the market with government-subsidized, below-market beef is not the way to rebuild the American cattle herd.”
He also pointed out the immediate impact of the announcement, stating that it led to a decline in cattle market futures on Friday morning and would negatively affect the “prospect of herd expansion and sacrifices long-term stability for short-term messaging.”

Flooding the market with foreign beef hurts our livestock industry.”
Senator Pete Ricketts also took to X and shared a similar sentiment to Fischer’s when addressing the issue. He wrote, “I appreciate the Administration’s work to lower grocery prices. Short-term policy shifts do not equal long term solutions. Flooding the market with lower quality beef compromises Nebraska farmers and ranchers.”
