Woman Says She Wants to Take Home Chili’s Margarita Shakers. So She Goes on a Mission to Get One: ‘They Are the Greatest’

Have you ever dined at a restaurant and been impressed by an item they used that you wish you could take home? That’s what Aria Harms (@ariaharms) apparently felt when she was served her margarita alongside Chili’s iconic margarita shaker and glass, which led her on a mission to take the items home.
In a video posted on TikTok that has since accumulated over 1.4 million views, Harms can be seen sitting at one of the restaurant’s locations with a margarita shaker. Speaking to the camera, she expressed how she felt about the blue shakers and argued that it was a “missed opportunity” for Chili’s to seemingly earn extra profit by making it official merchandise.
“I cannot in words describe how much of a missed opportunity it is that Chili’s does not sell these,” Harms said. “I would purchase a million of them. They are the greatest shakers.” Although she seemed very eager to walk out with the shaker in hand, Harms accepted that she would not make any attempts to steal the item out of her respect for Chili’s. Instead, she begged the restaurant chain to “sell them immediately.”
Blue shakers somehow end up in diners’ purses
While some try to save money at Chili’s, many of Harms’ viewers shared their interest in snagging one of the popular margarita shakers, which is usually served when you order their signature Presidente Margarita. But unlike Harms, some of them seemingly decided to take matters into their own hands if Chili’s wasn’t going to sell them.
“Mine mysteriously placed itself into my handbag…,” one comment read. “After 6 margaritas I earned it,” a viewer said, accompanied by a photo of them allegedly holding the shaker. “I stole one years ago along with the glass. tho if Chilis was a mom n pop, I would never,” another said.
For others, Harms’ video seemed to make them realize that they had unknowingly stolen the beloved item, thinking that the shaker was for them to keep. “Are they not complimentary?” A comment read. Another said, “…. I thought you could take them home.”
While Harms’ video highlighted how the margarita shaker should be made official merchandise available for purchase, several viewers who claimed to work at Chili’s shared that the shaker can actually be bought if asked. “We definitely sell them… there’s a button and everything,” a commenter said.
Diners can buy Chili’s margarita shaker
In a second video, Harms shared that she returned to Chili’s in an attempt to buy the shaker after reading comments alleging that she could. “You mean to tell me that every single one of my servers have been lying to me?” Harms said. “We’re back at a new Chili’s. We’re gonna test this for ourselves.”
Harms showed herself ordering the Presidente Margarita and subsequently the shaker that goes along with it. Not long after, Harms asked a server if she could buy the shaker. According to Harms, the server wasn’t sure if the shakers were for sale and allegedly went to grab a manager. But it seemed that asking worked, as Harms happily showed off her very own Chili’s shaker wrapped in plastic as she left the restaurant.
“I can confirm that you can buy the shaker and the glass,” Harms said. “They didn’t have any glasses left, but they told me when to come back for it. So, I will be back for that. But you can buy a Chili’s shaker.”
While Harms received her shaker, she disclosed to viewers that Chili’s staff allegedly weren’t aware that the shakers could be sold, nor were they aware that “there was a button” on their POS system dedicated to the item. She claimed that diners can definitely purchase the shaker, but it’s dependent on the stock in each store.
