LA Woman Plans a ‘Wine Walk’ With a Guy, Then He Says Something Which Makes Her Say She Likes Women: ‘When Has That Ever Worked?’
A woman from LA refuses to date, and she has an example to cite as a reason. @anaisxbea (Anais Gorek) spoke in a TikTok video about a guy she was talking to on Hinge, with whom she planned to go on a “wine walk.”
The term “wine walk” was borne out of a miscommunication between the two. While the guy spoke about going on a “long walk,” Gorek thought that he said “wine walk,” and they both agreed that the latter sounded much better.
However, their conversation took an unexpected turn when the man allegedly told Gorek that he knew a way they could make it even “better” and said, “I’ll pound you into the bed after.” Appearing shocked and at a loss for words, Gorek screamed for a moment, “When has that ever worked?” while repeatedly slapping the table in front of her.

Gorek continued discussing the interaction in the video, saying, ‘Three sentences in. They always have to ruin it. Why do they have to make it weird?’ Gorek said she told the man that she liked women, adding that she probably shouldn’t have continued the conversation after his comment.
“Why do they have to make it weird? I’m embarrassed for you. I low key was laughing. So I was like, this cannot be real. You should be embarrassed for the type of behavior that you’re offering if you’re sending sh** like that,” she said, reflecting on the incident.
She concluded her video, expressing her disappointment over the matter, and said that she was just looking for someone to get along with, adore, and “feel loved.” She said, “And you’re gonna send me that?” speaking about the quality of conversation with the guy.
Several commenters related to Gorek’s experience, with one user calling Hinge ‘the best birth control ever created.’ One user wrote, “Hinge is the best birth control ever created.” Another user said, “LITERALLY the amount of times guys are like “oh your so cute” I’m like great let’s go on a date! AND THEY RESPOND WITH ohhh idkkk. Boy what the heck is the point of this app then.” Yet another commented, saying, “They legit have no game it’s so embarrassing.”
Research Suggests Young Adults Aren’t Dating As Much
According to an Institute for Family Studies article, young adults are experiencing a dating recession. The conclusion was reached by the source after analyzing the results from the National Dating Landscape Survey (NDLS) in 2025. The NDLS is a nationally representative sample consisting of 5,275 unmarried young adults aged 22-35 in the United States, who are in their prime dating years.
Key insights from the study include that 74% of women and 64% of men reported little to no dating activity in the past year. Confidence in dating among young adults remains low, with roughly one in three feeling confident in their skills. Young adults need clear guidance to navigate dating successfully and to align their expectations with real relationships.
