Ohio Woman Found Out Something’s Wrong With Her Ex Because of Apex Legends. He Has a Key to Her House, and She Doesn’t Know How He Got It.

Enough dramas like You (2018) and Baby Reindeer (2024) were made to show the horrors of stalking—and how stalkers devote an abnormal amount of time and effort to their victims. But these incidents don’t only happen in film or TV. BellaDonna (@dedevious) on TikTok had to find out the hard way that her boyfriend may have been her stalker.
In a video captioned “my therapist heard it first,” BellaDonna told a story about her ex-boyfriend. She used to work nights when they were dating—in the odd, wee hours of the morning.
“My boyfriend at the time would come to my house, and he would sit outside the house in his car, and he’d wait for me to get home,” BellaDonna recalled on TikTok. Was he trying to pull off an Edward Cullen without being labeled a stalker? Because hanging out of people’s houses when they’re not at home isn’t a normal habit.
Caught because of Apex Legends
But she made the excuse that her boyfriend’s parents lived a couple of blocks away. It’s why he could wait for her outside instead. One night, they went into her house together. Her boyfriend was talking about Apex Legends, which they played together a lot.
While they were talking about the game, her boyfriend turned on BellaDonna’s PlayStation. He pulled up the media section of the video, and that’s when she noticed something strange.
“There’s something different about the game that I had never seen before,” she said. BellaDonna asked him why the game looked unfamiliar, even though it was Apex Legends.
“I forgot you haven’t played since the update. You didn’t play the game yesterday,” her boyfriend said. But then, she came to the realization that her boyfriend couldn’t have played the game the day prior, either. She wasn’t at home, so he couldn’t have had access to her console. But somehow, he managed to record his gameplay on her PlayStation.
A bonafide stalker
It would be a different story if he had merely sent a video of his gameplay from his PS5 to hers, but BellaDonna said the footage came from her gallery.
Because of the odd footage, BellaDonna confronted her boyfriend. She asked him how long he’d been staying at her house, and he said that he only pulled up to her house two minutes before she got home. She was skeptical about his answer, and for good reason.
Upon checking, the timestamp of his gameplay video was 11:37 p.m., two hours before she got home from work.
Then, she came up with an unsettling thought: he must have a key to her house. But she didn’t give him one.
She asked him if he had a key, and at first, he tried to deny it. But then, she showed the timestamps on his gameplay, and it’s what exposed his gimmick. He came clean and told the truth, but his explanation didn’t do anything to uplift the situation.
“Remember a couple of months ago when I took your car to go clean it and you were asleep? I made a key to your house,” he casually explained, as if he didn’t just confess to a crime.
“That’s how I found out that every single day, for the past three months, he was going into my house while I was at work,” she told Tiktok. He pretended to wait outside of her house, when the reality is, he has been snooping around on the inside while she was away.
Is this a stalker situation or a trespassing issue? Perhaps it’s both, and TikTok commenters were irked by his behavior. One wrote, “I wouldn’t have addressed it. I would have changed my locks and never spoke again. I admire your direct communication.”
He could have simply asked her for a key, but he made one—and that’s what makes the situation unusual and unnerving. It’s no surprise that he was demoted to ex.
