Javier Bardem Goes All In On Trump and His World Leader Friends: “Male Toxic Behavior”

Actor Javier Bardem, known for No Country for Old Men (2007) and the Dune movie series (2021 and 2024), has always taken a strong stance on politics and world issues. One cause he has repeatedly supported over the past few years is advocating for a Free Palestine, and he has spoken quite openly about it on public platforms. Additionally, since last year, he has frequently commented on the political climate in the United States, criticizing how it has significantly deteriorated under the current Trump administration.
Javier Bardem is currently attending the Cannes Film Festival at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, France, as part of the cast for his film The Beloved, which is being screened there. As expected, he has been participating in numerous press conferences, and at all of them, he has been quite outspoken. During a recent press conference, he boldly discussed Palestine and Gaza, and he even named Trump, Putin, and Netanyahu, calling them toxic masculine figures.
Javier Bardem disses on Warner Bros. and Paramount merger
Just a few months ago, the Hollywood community reacted strongly to the news of Netflix acquiring Warner Bros., with most opposing the idea. Although that merger is no longer happening, Paramount has acquired Warner Bros. with a much higher bid, causing industry insiders to react angrily again, including Javier Bardem.
Speaking at a press conference during his Cannes visit, Bardem commented on the Paramount-Warner Bros. merger and expressed concern that it could lead to content that promotes only a unilateral way of thinking. He believes this would be harmful to younger generations, who would lack sufficient information to form their own opinions or develop an empirical understanding. He says, “In terms of information, who is actually going to control all of this, what we’re listening, what we’re seeing? So I think that is very clear and is growing in importance with tech and social networks and rapid, summed-up messages which are very populist. They indeed have an impact on the young generation. That concerns me no end. We have to ensure the younger generation continues to think, apply reason, they need to understand, to compare, to check information. if they don’t it’s very dangerous, indeed.”
Javier Bardem speaks on toxic male behavior
Shortly after discussing the Paramount and Warner Bros. merger, Javier Bardem began talking about toxic masculinity and stated that it is one of the main reasons women in native Spain are being killed by men, including ex-husbands and ex-boyfriends. He also said that the same toxic masculinity applies to world leaders like Donald Trump, Benjamin Netanyahu, and Vladimir Putin, who are fighting with other countries in a blatant attempt to show their power.
He said, “And that problem also goes to Mr. Trump and Mr. Putin and Mr. Netanyahu, those big-balls men saying, ‘My cock is bigger than yours, and I’m going to bomb the shit out of you.’ It’s a fucking male toxic behavior … so yeah, we have to talk about it. And we are talking about it because we are more aware of it, thankfully.”
