TikTok user @saskiakaterinaherd from Los Angeles has a humorous story about meeting her current boyfriend, Christian. Her experience might seem like everything went wrong on their first date, especially from a stereotypical perspective. However, for her, it was perfect because it was chaotic and unpredictable, which helped them connect on a deeply human level. Keep reading to learn about their story, which is both equal parts disturbing and adorable, and most importantly, reveals who they are as individuals and as a couple.

TikTok user @saskiakaterinaherd met her boyfriend under chaotic circumstances

Just four days ago, while fixing her makeup, TikTok user @saskiakaterinaherd uploaded a video where she talked about her first date with her current boyfriend, Christian. She shared some background before discussing the actual date, explaining that she and Christian had been texting for a while and that she had initially been hesitant to get serious with him, even planning to ghost him. However, Christian was very persistent, insisting she give him a chance because he was a good guy who could make her happy. Eventually, Saskia decided to go on the date with him.

Saskia wanted the date to be in a public place, so she called him to her horse barn, where they went horseback riding. Everything was going well, and they were having fun, but at one point, as Saskia recalls in her TikTok video, she whipped around her leather whip, and it hit Christian very hard, so much so that she thought he was holding back tears. Still, he didn’t react much and told her he was okay. After that, they went to Christian’s house, and at one point, Christian told such a funny joke (which Saskia can’t remember) that she peed on the couch. Talking about the moment, Saskia says in the video, “I laughed so hard…I pissed myself on his couch. I peed, I peed on his couch. And not just a dribble.” She also mentioned that even though she was embarrassed, Christian kept trying to make her feel comfortable, telling her it was normal and there was nothing to be embarrassed about. He even gave her a pair of pants to change into, and when she came back, they cuddled and watched a movie together.

@saskiakaterinaherd’s video has attracted a lot of attention

For a story as exciting and subtly unpredictable as @saskiakaterinaherd’s, some attention is inevitable. User @alz2276 wrote, “The universe was testing you guys harddd on that first date omfg.” User @jade.rewilding said, “proof you can’t mess it up with the right person.”

User @jetlife_k asked, “Cuddled back on that same pee couch?” User @hannahdrmninmoonlight stated, “This is the best ‘how we met’ story I’ve ever heard.”

First date statistics about Americans

A YouGov article from February 5, 2025, reveals that most Americans are not dating as often as they wish. Thirty-nine percent of adults admit to rarely or never going on dates, even with their current spouses or partners if they have one.

Among those without a partner, 69% say they rarely or never date. For those in unmarried relationships, only 20% report rarely or never dating, while among married individuals, the figure is 19%. When asked about their preferences, only 16% of Americans overall and 30% of single Americans say they would prefer to rarely or never date. Married and non-married relationship groups are much more likely than singles to go on dates regularly and to want to do so.
