‘I could’ve gotten this for $20’: Florida woman orders Longchamp bag from Nordstrom. Then she realizes they sent her the Amazon dupe

A Tampa, Florida, woman decides to treat herself to a Longchamp bag and orders it online from Nordstrom. She immediately realizes there’s something not quite right about the small handbag when she opens up the plastic mailer.
In a video with over 221,000 views, TikToker Shop Kirsten (@shop_kirsten) claims that Nordstrom sent her “the Amazon dupe” of the Longchamp bag.
She opens up the plastic shipping packaging, which came with no added protection for the hardware of the bag. The bag’s hardware misses the tell-tale Longchamp logo, which was her first hint that the bag was fake.
“I open it up and it comes with a strap,” she continues. “So immediately I knew this is a dupe.”
The TikToker also points out a smudge of dirt on the front of the bag.
“Someone ordered the real bag from Nordstrom, kept it, and returned the dupe,” she suggests.
Did Nordstrom let her return the Longchamp dupe?
In a follow-up video, Kirsten shares an update on the return process with Nordstrom. She decided to reach out to customer service directly to report the seemingly fake bag.
“I ended up chatting with them because I just didn’t want this to happen to someone else,” she explains. “I wanted to make them aware that I was sent a fraudulent item. I don’t want them to put it back into their system.”
The TikToker says she had a “great experience” with Nordstrom customer service. Nordstrom refunded her the bag and scheduled a FedEx pick-up for the return.
She says that Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack reached out through their official TikTok accounts after her first video went viral.
“They basically said, ‘This is not acceptable. We’re looking into this,'” she continues.
However, Kirsten points out that many commenters say the same thing happened to them. So, she doesn’t plan to shop online through Nordstrom in the future.
The TikToker also purchased the same bag directly from Longchamp, showing the distinct differences in the hardware and quality between the original and the dupe.

Has this happened to other Nordstrom shoppers?
The Mary Sue previously reported that Nordstrom now allows third-party vendors to sell items on the website. One woman received a Coach bag that was missing the hang tags, leading her to question if the bag was authentic.
In the comments, other shoppers say they’ve been “duped” by goods purchased online through Nordstrom.
“Yes they sent me a fake Longchamp bag too!!!” one writes.
A second says, “I bought a Doen shirt from Nordstrom recently and received plain top with the brand and size cut out. After doing some reverse image searches it turned out to be an American Eagle top.”
“Happened to me too with a pair of Frye boots from Nordstrom,” another adds.
Others question if Nordstrom double checks returns prior to sending them back out to customers.
“Nordstrom seems to not check returns. I bought a Mocamaster as a gift from Nordstrom and it came used,” a viewer shares.
“The sent me extremely used shoes. I won’t order from them again. This isn’t the first time either,” another remarks.
The Mary Sue reached out to Shop Kirsten via email and TikTok direct message and to Nordstrom via email for further comment.
