Woman Orders Food via DoorDash, Then Watches the Delivery Person Circle for Hours. When They Finally Arrive, They Smell of Onions
Does the personal hygiene of the delivery driver really matter that much?
A woman says she ordered food via DoorDash at the hotel where she is staying, but she wouldn’t eat it. The reason being? Food delay, but also… body odor.
Yasmine (@yaaasmine777) said in a TikTok video that she ordered her food at 8:30 pm and it arrived at 11 pm a wait of more than two hours. She said she saw the delivery person move around in circles for several hours before reaching her location. She allegedly contacted support, but they didn’t provide a resolution and instead asked her to wait.
She said she was starving and hadn’t eaten all day, which is why she called room service and ordered food. While she was downstairs picking up her food, the DoorDash delivery person allegedly arrived. Yasmine then described in detail why she wasn’t keen to eat the food, as the bag also wasn’t sealed. She also said the delivery person had strong body odor, which made her believe her food was not being handled hygienically.
“When I tell you, first of all, the bag’s not sealed. I tied it in a knot so I didn’t make a mess going up into my room. When I tell you, I smelled, and I am not even being rude, this is just facts. I smelled my DoorDash driver before I. I saw her, and it literally was a very strong smell of onion.”

She continued: “And respectfully, no shade. She looked 100% disheveled, as if, like, a shower and some TLC was needed. Like, she’s been working all day. And I know times are hard. Like, please, I’m not shaming the hustle and the grind, but it was shown in, like, her hygiene. And when I. When she handed me this DoorDash order, I immediately lost my appetite, and I’m like, I’m not eating that.”
Yasmine added more context about her being repulsed by the food, mentioning that she had seen a video on TikTok where a woman got her DoorDash order dropped by her front door and then, through her Ring camera, saw the delivery person scratching his ass while walking away.
“So it’s just like, you don’t know what these people’s cars look like. You don’t know what these people’s homes look like,” she said. She added, “But if I’m visibly seeing it and smelling it and looking at it, would y’all eat the order?”
People commented under Yasmine’s video, with some noting that her reaction was valid. One user said, “I won’t even eat my food if the bag is not sealed up! Appetite immediately gone.” Another wrote, “I wouldn’t eat it because it was sitting in somebody’s car for two hours.”
A few of them who worked in the service industry spoke about what goes on behind the scenes, similar to this DoorDash driver who delivered food to an abandoned house late at night. One user commented, saying, “I worked in a lot of restaurants and trust the cooks are way worse, booty scratching all day and sweaty armpits ect, but let worry about the drivers …”
How are orders on DoorDash tracked by customers?
Tracking orders on DoorDash is straightforward. The Doordash website says they send SMS updates on delivery progress to the recipient, allowing them to track the delivery and prepare for its arrival. These notifications can be customized in the Developer Portal, including whether they are sent and the specific message content.
In addition to SMS alerts, customers can track their delivery in real time using the provided map. However, despite these options being available, they didn’t prove very helpful to Yasmine that day. This isn’t the first DoorDash-related case to come to public attention and leave people questioning the service. Recently, a Houston man alleged that he paid $30 for Express Delivery on DoorDash and that two drivers allegedly stole his food.
