A home inspector’s video showing an unusual structure inside a home has gone viral, with viewers begging him to explore it further.

The home quality inspector, TikTok creator Alan (@alan_rhead), posted a video showing something you’d expect to see at an amusement park.

It’s a yellow slide that extends across three stories in the interior of the home he’s working on.

“You don’t see this every day,” he says in the video, which was been viewed over 8.4 million times.

He explains that the slide’s entrance is in the living room, passes through the garage, and lands you in the basement. “My kids would freak out,” he says.

He jokes, saying that as a “thorough quality inspector,” he’ll have to slide down it to make sure it functions properly.

Viewers were upset he ended that video without going down the slide. “Too much explainy,” one viewer wrote. “Not enough examply.”

In part two of the saga, Alan obliged. “All right, well, y’all requested it, so here goes,” he says as he approaches the slide’s entrance. “I’m too old for this crap. This thing is three stories high.”

He starts sliding down it, giggling along. “That thing is steep,” he says. “Holy crap.”

Alan then reaches the end of the slide. “And it ends up in this little playroom,” he says, filming a small space. It’s most likely intended for children to play in.

Commenters Love It

In the comments section, viewers found his discovery thoroughly entertaining.

“Am I 36 years old? yes. Do I want one of these in my house? Also, yes,” one viewer admitted.

“‘I’m too old for this crap’ giggled all the way down,” another noted. “You’re never too old to enjoy a tube slide!”

“The amount of exercise those kids will get from wanting to constantly run up the stairs to go down the slide!” a third said. “This is genius!!!”

“So… does this pass inspection?” a fourth jokingly asked.

Are Slides Safe Inside Homes?

If installed correctly, they can be. While an indoor slide can be a wonderful feature, especially if you have kids who may remember it fondly for life, it can also be practical, according to Realtor.com.

The publication notes that indoor slides are becoming more popular among homeowners and are sometimes seen as a more fun way to get from one floor to another. They can be installed to send laundry from one floor directly to the washroom, help someone move from a bedroom to a living room in a duplex, or, as shown in the video, transport kids to a space that is just their own.

However, when it comes to the kind of market value a slide adds to a home, it’s a bit of a roll of the dice. While it may not appeal to the general market, it could attract a very passionate buyer.
