In a jaw-dropping twist, Marjorie Taylor Greene called to invoke 25th amendment to stop Donald Trump’s ‘madness’
The chorus for impeachment is getting stronger.

In a truly unexpected turn, former Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene has called for President Donald Trump to be removed from office, advocating for the invocation of the 25th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. This sudden shift marks a significant moment, especially considering Greene’s history as a staunch ally of the president. Her statement came after Trump posted a stark warning on Truth Social, suggesting that “a whole civilization will die tonight.”
Greene didn’t mince words, taking to X to express her outrage. “25TH AMENDMENT!!! Not a single bomb has dropped on America. We cannot kill an entire civilization. This is evil and madness,” she wrote, according to Fox News. Her post included a direct screenshot of Trump’s ominous Tuesday message, which declared, “A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again. I don’t want that to happen, but it probably will.”
This deeply concerning post from the president continued, “However, now that we have Complete and Total Regime Change, where different, smarter, and less radicalized minds prevail, maybe something revolutionarily wonderful can happen, WHO KNOWS? We will find out tonight, one of the most important moments in the long and complex history of the World. 47 years of extortion, corruption, and death, will finally end. God Bless the Great People of Iran!”
Trump has consistently threatened Iran with severe consequences since February 28
On Easter Sunday, he posted another expletive-ridden message on Truth Social, stating, “Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!! Open the F[—]kin’ Strait, you crazy b——, or you’ll be living in Hell – JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah,” he wrote.
Following this alarming message, the Iranian government reportedly encouraged its citizens to form human chains around power plants, hoping to deter any potential attacks. Greene had also reacted strongly to this Easter message, suggesting that Trump had “gone insane.”
She publicly challenged those in his administration, stating, “Everyone in his administration that claims to be a Christian needs to fall on their knees and beg forgiveness from God and stop worshiping the President and intervene in Trump’s madness. I know all of you and him and he has gone insane, and all of you are complicit.”
Greene’s current stance is a stark contrast to her previous unwavering support for Trump. She was once one of his fiercest advocates, but their relationship soured over the last year. She has since become a vocal critic of the commander in chief.
Her recent calls for the 25th Amendment highlight a dramatic shift in her political alignment and her assessment of the president’s leadership. She’s been particularly critical of the ongoing military operation in Iran, which saw initial strikes launched by the U.S. and Israel on February 28, 2026. Greene views these actions as a “betrayal” of the very promises Trump made during his 2024 campaign.
She’s been quite clear about her interpretation of the public’s mandate, stating, “The American people did not vote for this. I went to, I can’t even tell you, countless rallies all over the country for President Trump, campaigning for him and Republicans because we wanted to win, and we said on every single rally stage, ‘No more foreign wars, no more regime change.’”
She has characterized Trump’s addresses as “war war war,” indicating her deep disagreement with his current foreign policy direction. It’s worth noting that Greene isn’t alone in calling for Trump’s removal from office.
Several sitting Democratic lawmakers have also advocated for impeachment proceedings
Representative Ilhan Omar, a Democrat from Minnesota has repeatedly called for Trump’s ouster. Responding to his post, she wrote on X, “Sickeningly evil. Donald Trump must be impeached. When will it be enough for my Republican colleagues to grow spines and remove him from office?” She had also responded to his Easter message with, “This is not ok. Invoke the 25th amendment. Impeach. Remove. This unhinged lunatic must be removed from office.”
Other Democrats have echoed these sentiments. Representative Mark Pocan, a Democrat from Wisconsin, posted on X, “25th Amendment RIGHT NOW! Trump is too unhinged, dangerous, and deranged to have the nuclear codes!”
Representative Shri Thanedar, a Democrat from Michigan, who even introduced impeachment articles against Trump last year, also weighed in. He stated on X, “Trump just threatened to slaughter 100 million people. It’s clear he’s unfit to be president, the 25th amendment must be invoked. If Vance, Rubio & the others continue to be spineless cowards, Congress must do everything possible to stop Trump & this war.”
The convergence of calls for the 25th Amendment from both a once-loyal Republican ally and multiple Democratic lawmakers underscores the heightened tensions surrounding Trump’s recent statements and actions regarding Iran. The White House has been reached for comment regarding these calls.
