Texas Senator Ted Cruz Is Mad That People Keep Pointing Out How Unqualified Trump’s Administration Is

Nobody likes being wrong. It’s just a human thing! But maybe Ted Cruz should think a little bit harder on maybe why he’s wrong, and why it happens so often. Because what Jimmy Kimmel points out is true: There are a lot more people in Trump’s administration that are actually not qualified than the other way around.

Recently in an opening monologue for The Jimmy Kimmel Show, Kimmel remarked on the current administration, saying, “Before he was elected to the Senate, Markwayne Mullin was plumber. That’s right. We have a plumber protecting us from terrorism now.”

Cruz, who is more willing to argue against the truth than he is to stick around the United States when things get bad, took offense to Kimmel’s comment. On X, Cruz said, “I prefer plumbers to woke & unfunny comedians,” because that’s what our nation’s politicians should absolutely be doing while there is an active war in the Middle East–again.

As one user pointed out, “You guys have spent the last like decade mocking AOC for being a bartender.” It is also important to note that she also graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Economics. What did Mullin have? An Associate of Applied Science in Construction Technology, and now he is the Secretary of Homeland Security. Now, I’m no politician, but that would be like me, someone who graduated with a degree in English Literature and Creative Writing, becoming a math professor. It just doesn’t make sense.

Is it really so difficult to find qualified people?

More than it just being irritating, it’s also downright irresponsible for the administration to continue hiring unqualified people to some of the highest posts in the country. The purpose of these jobs is to keep Americans safe and to keep the country running. With these continued appointments, it really does not seem like that matters to them anymore. If it ever truly did.

“Would you call a politician to fix your plumbing problem?” another user asked. The answer would be no–or at least, hopefully it would be. So why are we bringing people into office who are not properly trained? The real reason is more than likely to continue to pad the Senate with people who will blindly support whatever this administration does. Yes, Mullin has experience within the Senate and with politics. That does not necessarily make him qualified for the position he currently has.

In a time of strife like this, and especially where tensions continue to escalate with Iran, why is somebody like Mullin being counted on to keep our country safe, especially after the disaster of Kristi Noem?
