In a bold move, a former Minnesota Governor calls on Barron Trump to step up and enlist for the Iran War

Former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura went on Piers Morgan Uncensored to air his thoughts regarding the war on Iran. Ventura made a call to action to Trump’s youngest son—Barron Trump—to support his father’s war.
Morgan and Ventura started the conversation regarding ICE. The former governor called ICE a ‘Gestapo’ for pepper-spraying and tear-gassing protestors, an act he equated to a war crime. International law prohibits the use of tear gas and other riot control agents in warfare. Aside from being a vocal critic against the unruly conduct of ICE agents, Ventura also opposed the Iran war on record.
Ventura prefaced the conversation by talking about his family’s extensive experience in military service. Notably, his uncle fought in World War I, and his parents served in World War II. Ventura and his brother were both Vietnam War veterans and members of the Underwater Demolition Team (UDT) Seals.
Calls for Trumps to enlist
“Well, here’s how I feel about it. There’s a simple thing as a leader, and you know this having been in the military. Trump wouldn’t know it because he’s a draft-dodging coward. A war is justified if you’re willing to send your kids,” Ventura remarked when Morgan asked him about his sentiments on the Iran war.
“How can you send somebody else’s kids to a war if you won’t send your own? So, I’m calling right now for Barron Trump, Donald Trump’s son,” the former governor continued. He emphasized that even among Trump’s other sons from his other wives, none served in the military.
“I want to see a Trump in the military. Everybody in my family has served, so I think I can say that with all due confidence. Come on, Trumps. Don’t just reap the benefits of this free world. Somebody put on the uniform, and that’s you, Barron.”
Ventura also brought up Barron Trump’s height—the youngest Trump stands at 2.06 meters. Others have made the argument that the young Trump was too tall for military service. But Ventura argued that David Robinson, who was one of the best centers in NBA history, stood at 2.16 meters and yet also served in the US Navy. Essentially, there’s no excuse for Barron Trump not to enlist.
He wouldn’t be the only member of his family urged to enlist for his father’s war. Even his niece, Kai Trump, had been the subject of controversy when she filmed a controversial Erewhon shopping video. Erewhon is known for overpriced groceries. Her grandfather’s war has made the cost of commodities soar, and yet Kai Trump uploaded her shopping haul. Social media also erupted with demands for Kai to “join the draft” to support her grandfather.
No justification for war
Aside from urging Barron Trump to serve, Ventura maintained the argument against the Iran war. He brought up NATO’s responsibility to protect members of the alliance. This war doesn’t oblige NATO to join in on attacks in the Middle East because Trump prompted an attack.
Moreover, Ventura was eager to bring up the United States coup d’etat of Iran’s democratically elected president in 1953. To this point, he said, “Remember, the hatred of America was started by America. It was not started by the Iranians. We interfered in their government way back in the 50s and overturned their democratic-elected president.”
It’s never too late to pull out—especially before the situation escalates to deploying troops on the ground.
