While the Olympic snowboarder hit the half pipe, the world watched to see if she could bring home her third first-place finish. They couldn’t have dreamed that NFL Superstar Myles Garrett would be there as a photographer and spectator for his girlfriend. Yes, the reigning Defensive Player of the Year is Kim’s boyfriend and was just a fan like the rest of us when she turned in an 88.00 score en-route to silver.

Unfortunately, South Korea’s Gaon Choi managed a staggering 90.25 in rough conditions to snatch gold away from Kim. But, it was a happy occurrence for the American favorite. She was beaming on the medal stand next to Choi and Japan’s Mitsuki Ono. For Kim, it’s been a run to remember in this event. But, even great streaks come to an end. Having her boyfriend there to cheer her on, and take some great photos probably helped a ton.

Folks playing along at home were very surprised to see this massive dude out there. Garrett was also wearing a sweater with Kim’s face on the front of it, lest anyone get confused about why he was there. It’s a sweet gesture! Even with the second-place finish, people are congratulating Kim on social media right now. And, a ton of them are learning about her relationship with the Cleveland Browns defensive end for the first time. The more you know!

With the Super Bowl being just last weekend, the Browns star player had to hit radio roll for press availability. During that weekend, People Magazine caught up with Garrett to ask about a number of things. He’s hot off another NFL honors- winning performance. But, they also got into his personal life. And, you really can’t talk about that aspect of Garrett’s life without mentioning Kim and their bond. He actually said that he was leaving straight off of the event in California to go cheer his girlfriend on in the Olympics.

We’re both just so supportive of one another,” Garrett explained. “She’s always texting, she’s always calling to see how I’m doing during the year and I’m doing the same right now, checking on her, seeing how she’s feeling, emotionally and physically.”

Garrett would add his goal is “trying to be her rock because throughout the year she’s mine.” He also added the fun tidbit that the world-class skier is just as competitive when it comes to other contests. The Defensive Player of the Year said, “It’s so competitive. When we get into our sports, even when we play games against each other.”
