Somewhere on TikTok, a divorced man is holding up his sad little pile of Polo shirts, trying to process why every single logo looks like it was surgically removed. Yet, the internet already knows who did it. Enter Ashley, the mysterious ex who, prior to leaving, curated chaos, one tiny embroidered horse at a time.

Now TikTokers are whisper-shouting “Ashley, lay low!” like it’s a true-crime manhunt. Others are simply applauding Ashley for “thinking big” and getting their own ideas if such a situation were to encounter them.

‘He Definitely Did Something to Her’

Everyone on the internet loves a good storyteller. Especially if it’s based on someone else’s drama. This time, the spinner of yarns goes by the handle @Black_Sewist on TikTok. Her 73-second clip is imbued with warning and a commendation to theatrics. The video begins ominously, with the creator immediately alerting a certain “Ashley” to lie low. She then sets the scene from the point-of-view of Ashley’s soon-to-be ex-husband.

Apparently, the couple is going through a divorce and the man decides to post a TikTok saying that Ashley took everything but his clothes. Not to be confused with kindness, the man approaches the row of polos to show that Ashley carefully cut out all the logos. As she’s sharing this baffling predicament, the creator chuckles. She then says, “Now I could be wrong but I feel like he did something to Ashley.” She continues and says that she went on the man’s page to look for an update and saw that the man is now involving the law. The creator again issues a warning to Ashley and tells her to “run.”

“But good job. You’re giving us some really good material to work with. We be thinking small, you gotta think big, [expletive].”

Who is Ashley?

After hearing the story, the internet came together in the comments section to find Ashley. TikTok sleuths allegedly found Ashley, whose TikTok account (@songsinaminor86) had one video addressing the drama.

In this clip, she mentions that she deleted all the other posts where she spoke about the subject. According to her, she no longer wants to be “ playing in this man’s hand.”

Ashley reiterates that she wants to move along because she knows herself and that no one can judge her. She tells her 2,000 viewers, “I quit…. This person has no regard for what he does in front of anybody…I am the bigger person.”

Referencing the relationship, one viewer asks under Ashley’s clip, “What took you so long.” Ashley then replies, “I was willing to ‘cut up’ cuz but it’s has gotten to were there’s no limits for him. I bow out gracefully bc I have limits.”

His Side of the Story

Internet sleuths wasted no time in finding the original TikTok @Black_Sewist was referencing. The man in question (@edmagic726) and he held nothing back in his videos. He also shares some more context.

Ed reveals what he did–or rather, did not do–to make Ashley retaliate in this manner. His caption states, “My Saturday filled with drama. We divorced in Sept. she had to move by Jan 1. She left Wed and I didn’t help her move. I did not provoke her to do this. I left the house to give her space. She just did it. I had no actions to provoke this. She is upset I didn’t care and moved on.”

Similar to the first video, his comments section is filled with people making jokes and rooting for Ashley. One viewer asks if he’s “innocent,” and he replied, “I did not help her move and I showed I didn’t care about the divorce. I moved on. She’s mad and stole things and ruined things.”

In another video, he shows his Fields jersey also slashed across the number and curses in anger. However, in this video, he gains some more sympathy, and with it, more information trickles out. A viewer asks why are people laughing and he replies with, “Exactly. I was hurt. She has a felony charge now and I gotta buy more ish.” This might be what @Black_Sewist meant when she mentioned “involving the law.”

Is it a Felony to Cut Someone Else’s Clothes?

In 2016, Defense Attorney Christopher Martens reported on this very topic. His article was centred on the topic of domestic violence and what actions fall under that term.

Upon the question of property, he reports, “Vandalism can be charged as a misdemeanor or a felony, depending on the value of the property vandalized and the damage done. As with many property crimes, the district attorney must prove you knowingly and willingly damaged or destroyed someone else’s property without his or her consent.”

Therefore, the ex-husband could have pressed charges against Ashley and taken her to court. Of this, there is no acknowledgement other than his comment that she now has a felony charge.

Viewers’ Jokes and Opinions

As usual when it comes to juicy gossip, viewers take it as a stand-up comedy event. One viewer jokes, “MARCO. . .MARCO. . .polos gone.”

“Somebody told him to wear new polo shirts under them so the logo can go through the hole,” says another. A third viewer shares, “those are now holo shirts.”

The other type of comments are those providing an alibi for Ashley. One viewer shares, “She was at the mall with me, don’t know what he’s talking about.”

“First of all, Ashley was framed!” speculates another. One even says, “How do we know he didn’t cut them off himself and try to blame it on Ashley?”

A third viewer says, “I am not a lawyer but he defo cut those logos off his own self.”
