Trump Incessantly Disses ‘Blue States’, Calls Their Trees ‘Gross,’ and Their Streets ‘Dirty’
He isn't hiding his feelings about his political opponent
A clip currently going viral on social media shows President Trump criticizing Democrat-led states and nations, calling them “dirty.” Not only that, but he also suggests that red states are comparatively better.
Giving an example of when a place becomes “bad,” and what they have in common, Trump emphasized that blue cities had “vicious, violent crime,” in addition to being “filthy.” He also said that the streets of Democrat-led states smelled, and their storefronts were “broken,” while their grass looked “gross.”
To clarify his point to the audience in front of him, Trump, in the clip, even gave an example of what he meant. He said that the characteristics he described of a blue state matched those of Washington, D.C., as it was about a year and a half ago.
Trump’s Oval Office press conference turned into an anti-Democrat rant
On August 3, 2026, President Donald Trump signed an executive order in the Oval Office establishing Jennifer Rauchet, the wife of Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, as the head of the President’s Military Spouse Commission. Videos of the signing showed Rauchet and Hegseth standing behind Trump, along with a few other women, and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman General Dan Caine.
Following this event, Trump spoke with the press, and during this time, he explicitly expressed his criticism of states that fell under Democrat leadership. This is not the first time the audience has seen Trump speak negatively about Democrat-led states. Notably, Trump has raised serious questions about Minnesota Governor Tim Walz’s leadership on an earlier occasion, including accusing him of being a “grossly incompetent man” and harboring Somalis who “stink” and had taken “billions of dollars” from the US without contributing to its economy.
Trump said Jeanine Pirro made a mistake
Shortly after attempting to paint blue states in a negative light, Trump was asked by a reporter about the incident involving the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, especially in relation to Jeanine Pirro. For those who are unaware, after extensive public debate on the matter, Pirro, in a formal court filing, stated that the damage to the recently renovated Reflecting Pool was due to “botched installation” and not vandalism, as Trump claimed in a Truth Social post.
Discussing the verdict, Trump emphasized that Pirro had made a “mistake.” He also reiterated his previous claims, stating that, irrespective of what was said, he believed the damage to the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool was caused by vandalism.
