‘Block him and run’: Texas rideshare driver picks man up after ‘worst first date ever’ at BJ’s Brewhouse. Why are people saying she dodged a bullet?
Texas rideshare driver Shawn (@shawntv96) has issued a PSA after picking up a passenger following what he called the “worst first date ever.” However, as Shawn soon learned, the situation was a little more nuanced than that.
In the viral clip, which has amassed 335,300 views, he directly addressed the woman that the passenger, named Bradley, went on a date with.
He recounted how Bradley said it was the “worst date ever” for a number of reasons. Firstly, he complained how the woman showed up with brown hair rather than blonde, noting that he’d prefer his girlfriend to have ‘natural’ hair.
Secondly, she ordered an appetizer, which Bradley seemed to interpret as her taking charge and being too dominant. “And that right there told me everything else I needed to know about how [expletive] this man was,” Shawn explained.
Bradley’s third complaint is that she didn’t order a “womanly dinner,” and expressed how he wished she had ordered something more “dainty,” like a salad.
He followed up by saying she ordered too many drinks. She had ordered three. “Anything more than one shows me that you’re promiscuous, and I don’t like promiscuous girls,” Shawn said, quoting Bradley.
To add insult to injury, Bradley complained that she had ordered beer, which he insisted was a masculine drink.
His final issue was that she got a dessert and he didn’t—but when pressed by Shawn, Bradley revealed that she actually paid for her own meal.
After hearing this story, Shawn had a simple message for the woman: “If you went on a date tonight with Bradley… I would block him and run.”
Shawn didn’t immediately respond to The Mary Sue’s request for comment via TikTok comment and email.

Commenters got the ick
For commenters on Shawn’s video, it was red flag after red flag. “I love how she dominated him with her food and drink choices,” one wrote.
“It’s baffling that Bradley has remained single all this time,” another quipped.
While a third asked, “If 3 drinks = promiscuity, how come he’s going home alone?”
“If she paid for her own meal she has no intention of seeing him again,” a fourth said. “THEY. ARE. NOT. LONELY. ENOUGH,” a fifth exclaimed.
Meanwhile, a sixth seemed determined to aggravate Bradley further.
“Anyone else want to go out with Bradley really badly now?” they asked. “I think I could annoy him way more than she did. He only thinks he was on the worst first date!”
A nightmare dating scene
Lately, all kinds of bad dates have been going viral on TikTok. Recently, Love Island USA star Leslie Golden (@lesliehannahbelle) amassed attention on the app after sharing how her date, who took her to Erewhon of all places, went dramatically downhill.
In a similar vein to Bradley, this man criticized Golden for behaving in a “masculine” way by driving herself to the date and by offering to choose a place to eat.
He also shared that he usually only dates Russian and European girls for three reasons: they’re quiet, feminine, and do as they’re told.
The final straw was in her car when the man remarked on the dancing pole she stored in there, telling her she’d be more feminine if she danced.
Needless to say, a second date didn’t happen.
