Leave The World Behind, Netflix’s film adaptation of the psychological thriller by Rumaan Alam finally has a trailer. Here’s everything we know about the film.
When will Leave the World Behind release?
Leave the World Behind will debut on October 25, 2023, at AFI Fest. After that, it will have a limited theatrical release on November 22, before moving to Netflix three weeks later on December 8. You can watch the official trailer here:
The cast of Leave the World Behind
The cast for the film is small but star-studded. Julia Roberts and Ethan Hawke play the main vacationing married couple, Amanda and Clay Sandford, while Farrah Mackenzie and Charlie Evans play the Sandfords’ children, Rose and Archie. Meanwhile, Mahershala Ali and Myha’la Herrold portray the owners of the rental property, G. H. Scott and Ruth Scott, who are unexpectedly forced to stay on the property with their vacationing guests.
Kevin Bacon, Alexis Rae Forlenza, Vanessa Aspillaga, Josh Drennen, Erica Cho, and Orli Gottesman will also appear in more minor roles.

“A family vacation on Long Island is interrupted by two strangers bearing news of a mysterious blackout. As the threat grows more imminent, both families must decide how best to survive the potential crisis, all while grappling with their own place in this collapsing world.”
