Jonathan Majors as Kang/He Who Remains in Marvel and Disney+'s Loki series.

The Official ‘Avengers: The Kang Dynasty’ Release Date is Here

It's unclear whether The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars will function as a two-parter, like Infinity War and Endgame, or if it will feature separate storylines.

San Diego Comic-Con 2022 saw all sorts of reveals and surprises during Marvel’s mega panel in Hall H. CEO Kevin Feige walked fans through the next few years of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as it journeys into the Multiverse Saga, which began with Phase 4 and will end in Phase 6. Phase 4 will end with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, with Phase 5 kicking off in 2023. Phase 5 will be comprised of the following films: Ant-Man and the Wasp: QuantumaniaGuardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3The Marvels, and Blade, all in 2023. 2024 will see Captain America: New World Order and Thunderbolts. These films will be accompanied by several Disney+.

Phase 6, which was newly announced at SDCC, will be comprised of Fantastic Four, which premieres on November 8, 2024, and two Avengers films. Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is set for May 2, 2025, followed by Avengers: Secret Wars in November 7, 2025. Little is known about the Avengers films, but they will likely be adapted from their respective comic book series.

MCU fans first met Kang (Jonathan Majors), or a variant of him, as He Who Remains in season one of Loki. Kang will return as the antagonist in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania in 2023, and may nor may not return in other Phase 5 films. But what else do we know about the fifth Avengers film? The Kang Dynasty will be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, who helmed Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. No cast members or writers have been announced, but we can expect to see the surviving Avengers of Phase 5 return for the film.

Avengers: The Kang Dynasty will likely be adapted from the comic book series of the same name. Written by Kurt Busiek and drawn by Alan Davis, Kieron Dwyer, Ivan Reis, and Manuel Garcia in 2001 and 2002, The Kang Dynasty follows Kang as he travels back in time from the 30th century to take over Earth. An all-out galactic battle takes place for the future of Earth.

It’s unclear whether The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars will function as a two-parter, like Infinity War and Endgame, or if it will feature separate storylines. Given that they’re both being released in 2025, I would bet on the former. Either way, it’s a long wait until the next time the Avengers assemble.
