Black Panther will finally reach studios February 16th, and early tracking numbers are predicting a box office opening anywhere between $100-150 million. The excitement for the new Marvel film is no joke, as we’ve seen from the massive reactions on social media leading up to the film’s release.
It’s no surprise then, that the heroes are part of an extended Super Bowl ad for Lexus in an action-filled commercial that has somehow made me care about cars?! If you asked me who’s playing at the Super Bowl this year, I can not tell you. If you asked me who’s performing at the Super Bowl this year, I have no idea. (Wait I checked, it’s Justin Timberlake. Does Justin Timberlake have the same agility, charisma, and ability to command respect as T’Challa, king and protector of the nation of Wakanda? NO.)
Chadwick Boseman stars in the ad with Letitia Wright who plays his sister Shuri and Janeshia Adams-Ginyard, Marija Abney and Zola Williams, who play three members of the Dora Milaje team of Wakandan special forces. The actions scenes with the new 2018 Lexus LS 500 F SPORT is set to the Run the Jewels’ song “Legend Has It”.
