Hello Mary Suevians! Welcome to Fan Art Friday, a (new, weekly!) place for everyone to get together, share some art, and have some fun at the end of the week. Whether you’re an artist looking for some inspiration or merely an admirer who’s seen something cool on the internet that you’d like to share—or who has their own suggestion for some subject matter—this is the place!
This week, we’re looking for your art involving Episode VIII’s brand new entry into the long history of adorable Star Wars creatures: porgs! What’s a porg? This perfect little ball of floof is a porg:

They’re tiny, adorable bird-like creatures that live on Luke Skywalker’s island getaway, but we also find their tiny teeth kind of unsettling—not unsettling enough to keep us from loving and petting and cuddling them forever, mind you, but unsettling nonetheless. Also unsettling is that it seems Chewbacca might have eaten one, so uh … maybe there’s a reason the one in that screenshot above looks so scared.

But we don’t have to wait for The Last Jedi for more adorable porg content. We’re looking to you, dear readers, to get creative and share your own porg art with us, just like Devin Parker up above (whose other work can be found on DeviantArt, Tumblr, and empathize this), for everyone to ooh and ahh over—and we might even show some of it around on social media with links back to your other work!
Right now, we’re especially into porg mashups with your other favorite fandoms, with extra bonus points for puns (because that’s just who we are), although Leia Porg-ana is going to be hard to beat. But we’re not picky, so show us whatever you’ve got!
Whether you’ve already drawn something or you’ve found some inspiration here, go ahead and tweet your art at us, send it to us on Facebook, or drop everyone a link in the comments below. If you’re not artistically inclined, feel free to post porg artwork you’ve seen elsewhere, or try your hand at it anyway. Again, we’re not picky.
