Another adaptation? Must be Tuesday.

Word around town is that King Kong is bringing his larger than life self to the small screen with the help of  MarVista Entertainment and IM Global Television. According to Deadline, they’re teaming up for the first live-action TV adaption set in the Kong universe.

Based on Merian C. Cooper’s King Kong and DeVito ArtWorks’ Skull Island, the show will reportedly be written by Jonathan Penner and Stacy Title and feature a female protagonist much like Skull Island. “Jonathan and Stacy have taken a world that has enraptured audiences in all its many forms over the years and given it a contemporary, female-focused spin,” MarVista CEO Fernando Szew said.

King Kong Skull Island is headed to a television or digital platform near you. We just don’t know when or where yet.
