Clever Mario Maker Levels Put Super Mario 64 in 2D

The Nintendo 64 defined a lot of 3D gameplay that we still enjoy today, but Nintendo doesn’t have the market totally cornered on ingenious game designers. Super Mario Maker on the Wii U has unleashed the creative potential of the fans, which has led to some downright magnificent level design and opened the door for this brilliant reimagining of Super Mario 64 within its predecessors’ 2D limitations.

Playing is more fun than just watching, though, so if you happen to have Mario Maker, take the courses for a spin for yourself and see how they hold up against the 3D versions:
