Watch the Stranger Things/Parks and Rec Father/Son Reunion We’ve All Been Waiting For

Recommended Videos

Two days ago, Stranger Things and Parks and Rec fans got a special treat in the form of some pictures from a “father/son” reunion between the former’s Steve Harrington (Joe Keery) and the latter’s Jean-Ralphio Saperstein (Ben Schwartz). It turns out that those pictures were just a teaser for things to come, as the two shot a whole video together for a Late Late Show digital short.

The theory, in case you somehow missed it, holds that—since Stranger Things is set in Indiana in 1983—Steve is Jean-Ralphio’s father, which is based mostly on their appearance. They’re not actually father and son within the canon of their respective shows (well, maybe on Parks and Rec, thanks to co-creator Mike Schur), nor are they actually related in real life, but they won’t let that stop their “reunion.” They’re sadly not really in-character for the interview, but they might as well be during the montage of father/son activities at the end.

I choose to accept this headcanon. Hey, when you’re dealing with alternate universes, what isn’t possible? I’m going to go ahead and believe this is all real.
