‘The Floor is Hot Lava’ Childhood Game Is Now the Video Game of Your Dreams

Caution: Hot Surface.

Admit it, you’ve played that game before. You know, the one where you pretend the floor is hot lava? Using only your imagination and any piece of furniture you see, you jump from place to place while avoiding the floor at all costs? Well, it looks like that childhood classic is being reinvented into an actual videogame.

The makers of Hot Lava bring you a first-person shooter with a twist, where you’ll have to navigate through a bunch of obstacles if you want to reach the next level. No shooting things here: It’s all about avoiding the lava floor and making it out alive.

By the looks of the trailer, you won’t just be stuck in a living room hopping from sofa to table. The game allows you to “traverse distinct worlds, from school hallways to the memories of your darkest fears,” as the Steam store put it, while putting your reflexes to the test.

No word yet on a release date, so keep checking Steam for updates. And by golly, may the odds be ever in your favor.
