Suicide Squad, Fantastic Beasts Get Fun New Trailers

Suicide Squad's unlikely heroes thing is getting a bit meta.

Whether or not it’s true that Suicide Squad‘s current reshoots are adding more fun to the film, this is the second trailer it’s had that plays up the action/comedy angle, and that works just as well the second time around. Fittingly for its subject matter, this movie might just be the great unlikely hero that the DC movie universe needs right now.

Whether you liked Batman v Superman or not (though odds are not), it’s hard to argue with the idea that it lacked any sense of joy or fun. Leave it to a bunch of villains to show everyone how to do a dark-but-still-fun tone. Even if the reshoots are just to add more action as Jai Courtney has said—hey, there’s no reason action can’t be “fun”—judging by these trailers, there’s plenty of material in the movie as-is to keep the tone varied and not let things get bogged down and overly serious. We’ll see whether or not the worst heroes ever can turn things around on August 5.

In the meantime, that’s not the only new trailer we got this weekend: Fantastic Beats and Where to Find Them has finally unleashed a trailer full of magical footage. Take a look at Eddie Redmayne in action as Newt Scamander and try not to let character references and musical themes pull too hard on your nostalgia strings.

Fantastic Beasts is all set to make our season bright on November 18.
