Adorable Music Video Reminds Us That Stormtroopers Can Fall in Love

Recommended Videos

Iceland’s Bara Heiða created this stunningly adorable music video to remind you that yes, Imperial stormtroopers are people too–and they can fall in love. It centers around a stormtrooper who crash landed on a mysterious planet called Earth. The video features his attempts at integrating into Earthling society: dealing with stormtrooper hate, finding a job, and even finding love.

As for the latter part of that, he finds it halfway through the video in one of the cutest meet-cutes I’ve seen in a while. It seems that Finn must have set off a bit of a trend in the whole “breaking mental conditioning” thing that he did. Good for you, Finn. And good for you, nameless stormtrooper. I hope you get to hold on to that happiness.

The music itself is quite something. It’s a neat folk-y style of music that’s got a sweet pop edge to it that isn’t too cloyingly sweet. It’s also tinged with a bit of a melancholy which seems to be in keeping with the turns that folk/pop music has been taking lately. As a professed “emo revival” fan, this song was right up my alley. You should give the band a look-see (hear-listen?), and tell us: what do you think?
