Player Piano Celebrates The Force Awakens With the Ultimate Star Wars Medley

Recommended Videos

Player Piano, the YouTube music series created by director Tom Grey and brilliant pianist/composer Sonya Belousova, is always there for us to help celebrate huge geek events. What’s more huge this month than the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens? Nothing, that’s what. In honor of the latest installment in the Star Wars saga, Player Piano brings us an amazing medley of classic Star Wars music. Check out the epic 10-minute performance above!

If watching Belousova flawlessly mimic an entire orchestra with just two hands and her piano keys as she plays her beautiful, original arrangements of our favorite music from Star Wars (including The Main Title, Duel of The Fates, The Imperial March and Princess Leia’s Theme) doesn’t get you, you will surely be impressed by the pianos themselves. Co-starring with Belousova are three amazing custom pianos: the Millennium Falcon, a “Dark Side” piano, and R2-D2.

Of course, the music is the real star, and Belousova plays it gorgeously. I have to say – my eyes welled up during Leia’s Theme, not gonna lie. And watching her nail the Imperial March – while wearing gloves – was pretty fucking awesome.

Check out this, and the rest of Player Piano‘s videos at their YouTube channel. And if you wanna try your hand at playing Belousova’s arrangements, you can get your grubby little hands on the sheet music HERE.

So, is there a piece that you wish were included in this medley, but wasn’t? What’s your favorite piece of music from Star Wars?
