New images from Marvel and Netflix’s upcoming Daredevil TV series shed some light on the purportedly dark corner of Marvel’s film and TV universe.

On top of the new photos they put out, Empire magazine also spoke to showrunner Steve DeKnight, who let them in on how the show is pushing the boundaries of the MCU’s tone:

But the Marvel brand, that’s a little different. They’re obviously not comfortable going that far with it, though they’ve allowed us to push it much further than you’ve seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since starting with Iron Man. It is much more geared towards adults. We call it PG-16. We don’t quite get to R, but we kiss right up to it.

We’ll find out just how well they struck that balance of tone when Daredevil premieres on April 10.
