Sharknado Gets a Video Game, Because Why Not?

Chainsaws for everyone!

As someone who studied meteorology and is an overall weather nerd, I absolutely adore bad meteorology movies. I spent countless hours watching Twister over and over again with my old college roommate and finding new things to laugh about every time. So when Sharknado premiered on Syfy last year, I was hooked. I was doubly excited to find out about Sharknado 2: The Second One.

But what could be better than a sequel, you say? A video game!

Syfy is developing an iOS/tablet game called, appropriately, Sharknado: The Video Game. It’s set to be released on July 30th – along with the premiere of Sharknado 2. It was originally  intended to be a console game, but they had to develop it under extreme time constraints so that it could be released with the new film. If it does well on iOS, though, then it’s possible they may end up turning it into a console game anyway.

Because what could be better than spending hours of your day chainsawing sharks in half?

Don’t forget to tune in to Syfy channel on July 30th for the premiere of Sharknado 2: The Second One! I know I sure will! If you still need to be convinced, here’s the first trailer:
