Ladies and Gentlemen: The Dark Knight Rises‘ Third Trailer

Don’t get me wrong, I’m looking forward to The Avengers. I love the fanbase that’s risen around it and its creative contributions to my daily life on the internet. I’ve generally enjoyed all of Marvel’s Cinematic Universe outings to the theater, even if the individual films might not have been the most, ah, hallowed additions to the genre of superhero movies (Iron Man 2 and Thor, I’m looking at you and giving you a comforting pat on the shoulder). At the bare minimum I’m expecting a fun ride out of The Avengers, and if early reviews are a good indication, I’m going to get that and more.

But the part of me that is a Batman fan first and foremost among all of my other geek interests wants everybody else to shut up because there’s a Batman movie coming out. That part of me has somehow decided that the reason we haven’t had a media blitz for The Dark Knight Rises yet is because of The Avengers. I know, it’s petty jealousy, but what are you gonna do?

Watch the following trailer, I guess.

I feel the same way! Avengers looks like a fun ride, but it’s definitely action-for-action’s-sake. Nolan’s movies has the intrigue and emotion that makes me enjoy movies.

This one gives quite a bit more of the story… I kind of wish I could un-see it. Part of what I’ve loved about these movies is how unexpected a lot of things were and while I still think Nolan is trying to mis-lead us a bit… I still liked how vague the other trailers were… I’m seeing it no matter what. You don’t have to sell me… just don’t give any of the plot away. K thanks!

I live in South Africa so I saw “The Avengers.” It’s really good in the way it’s supposed to be really good (action, special effects, great acting, and it’s funny). Sadly, no Batman preview (Spidey did show up though) I’m intensely worried (as opposed to how I felt before this) about Ann Hathaway. The rest of it looks amazing in all it’s Nolan-y goodness. But… theater nerd with big t!t$ as Selina? Really? Not 100%. Not even 30% on board.

What does the size of her breasts have to do with her ability to portray Catwoman?

Some people are forgetting that this is the final instalment to the franchise. While everything else is filled with more action then my own life, it’s actually necessary for this movie to be a little subtle with certain scenes (example, a quiet Selina/Bruce moment).

Also, don’t be hating on Anne because she got cast as Catwoman. I’m not going to judge her till I’ve seen the film and I think some people should do the same. Or better yet, get over it. Simple.

(ps, missed out on trailers in Avengers due to advance screening so no spider man trailer :/)

I just wish I liked Batman more as a character. I’m sure I’ll like this movie well enough, because I liked the first two well enough. But I just don’t like Batman. Still.
