Arnold Puts Post-Governor Projects On Hold Amid Family Issues

To the surprise of no one, Arnold Schwarzenegger has stopped pursuing his reignited entertainment career while he deals with his troubled marriage and the revelations that he fathered a child with his former housekeeper. Several new projects had been lined up including a film and the one we were the most psyched about/dreading, the animated Stan Lee collaboration, The Governator.

And After The New Terminator? New Highlander, Naturally

Today, in bringing back everything from your childhood:

“I’ve been working with ['Iron Man' writers Art Marcum and Matt Holloway] on the script,” Lin told MTV News in an exclusive interview, confirming that “Highlander” is still very much a priority for [director Justin Lin].

Yes, a Highlander reboot, from the guy who brought you Fast Five, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, and Fast & Furious (which, btw, is the fourth film in the F&F franchise. I know). And the guy who will be bringing us the fifth Terminator movie, supposedly with Schwarzenegger in tow.

Once there’s a second Highlander continuity, do the two have to fight to the death?

Arnold Schwarzenegger is Doing Another Terminator Movie

Turns out Arnold Schwarzenegger actually has plenty of plans now that he’s not a public official anymore and can accept commercial and creative products. Just because he’s making a cartoon and comic book about his fictional super-heroic post-governor activities doesn’t’ mean he can’t also make another Terminator movie.

According to Deadline, a rights package is being shopped around to studios today to make a Terminator movie starring Schwarzenegger and produced by Robert Cort, and Universal, Sony, Lionsgate, and CBS are all looking hard at the opportunity.

Former SpongeBob Squarepants Writer Signs On For The Governator

I have to say, I really love how Arnold Schwarzenegger has chosen to spend his post-political career. He’s already filthy rich, his reputation is in tact, and now he’s making cartoons with Stan Lee. Because he can. And today it was announced that the former head writer of SpongeBob SquarePants Steven Banks will coming on board as The Governator‘s main scribe. We posted about this previously (I’ll include the trailer again after the jump), and seemed skeptical. But now? Now this just gets better and better.

We Couldn’t Make This Up If We Tried: Arnold Schwarzenegger’s New Project: The Governator

We’re actually almost at a loss for words. Arnold Schwarzenegger, fresh off of his eight-year stint as California’s governor, has given Entertainment Weekly an exclusive look at his newest project. Says Schwarzenegger:

When I ran for governor back in 2003 and I started hearing people talking about ‘the Governator,’ I thought the word was so cool.. The word Governator combined two worlds: the world of politics and the movie world. And [this cartoon] brings everything together. It combines the governor, the Terminator, the bodybuilding world, the True Lies

Would it help if we told you that Stan Lee was in charge of it? No? Well, there’s more.

Predator: The Musical

Legolambs bills this as the very last in their series of Arnold Schwarzenegger musicals, consisting of Commando, Terminator 2, Rambo, Conan, and Total Recall.  But maybe if they’re out of Schwarzenegger movies, they can move on to a different, easily spoofable action star?

Come on, Die Hard the Musical.
