Great Hera!

Would You Watch a Fan Film Starring This Wonder Woman Cosplayer?

That’s Sarah Scott as Wonder Woman, in two costumes created by her and Hermes Terceiro, photographed by Adam Jay. What, you need to see more before making a decision? No problem. Follow me.

Now those are some costumes we’d like to see in the comics. If you’d like to let Jay, Scott, and Terceiro that you’d be interested in their fan film, you can do it here.

Her costumes are amazing. I mean really, really amazing. She’s built right, too.

But something just isn’t sitting right for me. She looks too ‘made up’ to be Wondie, in my opinion. That second-to-last picture is the one that sits least well.

    I don’t mean that in a bad way. I just… can’t see it :(

But <3 the costumes. Awesomesauce indeed.

The faux lashes does take away from it.

    She looks like Xena! =D

But lose those and you have Wonder Woman.

  • Kath

I dunno, I think the lipstick and foundation (right?) just make her look a little too… Jersey Shore for Wonder Woman.

I always envisioned Wondie as being without make up. Or at least looking less ‘femme’ and more cut from the same marble as an Immonen-drawn She-Hulk, i.e. attractive but strong in the face.

The redesign of the classic outfit really strikes a high note. It looks more plausible to run around in, with a dash of gladiator-like style to top it off. Just fantastic.

Where, oh, where is my Wonder Woman movie?

The make-up doesn’t bother me too much. All actors and actresses have at least a minimum applied to them, to give them that perfect Hollywood sheen. At the very least she doesn’t have clownish mascara and lipstick.

As long as it’s not a cross between Ally McBeal and The Terminator, it’s automatically going to be a better film than the pilot. The exquisite costume is just gravy.

She’s gorgeous, and so are her costumes. The fact that the bustier has straps is icing on the cake.

I agree. She looks cool, but not “badass”. More like that Transformer’s chick. Like eye-candy trying to look serious and badass. It’s excellent none the less, don’t want to sound a-hole! But her FACE doesn’t look serious enough!

  • Frodo Baggins

    Yes. Yes I would.

  • Frodo Baggins

Jeez you guys. Getting in on the “That cosplayer doesn’t fit my vision of the character to some arbitrary standard, so she’s doing it wrong” game much?

  • Kath

Sorry, I don’t think we realised critiques weren’t allowed.

We’ve not said “she’s doing it wrong”, we’re saying certain elements don’t work, namely her make-up.

  • Francesca M

Really I don’t think she’s that made up. To me I could se this done in the comics easily. How many times have we seen some inker go over board with the lashes.

  • Francesca M

Well if nothing else I want them incharge of the costuming.

I think I know what’s missing: the iconic red lip. Nearly every iteration of Wonder Woman, in print and on screen, wore red lipstick. Obviously as a modern update with a  full on red lip wouldn’t work….or maybe it would if it were a soft, daytime look.

The uniform looks good, but can she act? I don’t suppose Joss Whedon would write it?

  • Anonymous

I don’t know much about Wonder Woman. But as a Dad with my own daughter, who is in love with everything “Avengers” right now. I also know that there just isn’t enough strong female role models for young girls. So I would love Hollywood to look at the Avengers, look at Joss Whedon and do the math and make this happen.

  • Adam Whitley

you said she was too “jersey shore” that’s the biggest insult imaginable

  • http://twitter.com/dzaida Diane Zaida

Joss actually wrote a script for a Wonder Woman movie back in ’07 but the project was canned. Too bad as I’m sure it’d be awesome

I think you’re right. I don’t mind that she’s wearing make-up, but her pink lipstick doesn’t look natural and doesn’t look very Wonder Woman-y. I think even a darker red would work to better compliment the outfit, but the very pink lips wash her out.

  • Rachel Fiekowsky

The only problem is with the model herself. With the exception of mayyybe the second photo, instead of acting like she’s Wonder Woman, she’s acting like she’s cosplaying Wonder Woman. There’s none of the characteristic feminist flare in her eyes. There’s no drama. There’s no glory. There’s just a cosplayer.

This is a great cosplay though.

Do my eyes see… biceps? And actual musculature?

    Exquisite.

I’d watch her. Look at that physique! Especially those beautiful strong arms. She looks like she could punch Superman.

    She on twitter?
