New Hobbit Photos Get Us Up Close & Personal With Dwarf Hair (Among Other Things)

    We're still a few months away from being able to enjoy Peter Jackson's first Hobbit film in theaters so I, for one, am thankful to have more pictures to tide us over. Most of these new ones come via a new app Warner Bros. has released called "Hobbit Movies" (couldn't come up with anything more creative, guys?), while some are just better looks at promotional shots we've already seen. From the app description, "View a selection of animated character portraits, travel through a detailed map of Middle-earth and explore the stunning narrative imagery of 'The Scroll' artwork to immerse yourself in the world of Hobbits, Dwarves, Elves, Orcs, deadly Wargs, giant Spiders and fearsome Dragons." Basically, it just gives us some nice close-ups of dwarf hair, or lack thereof. Enjoy!

    I don’t know my dwarves well enough to say which one it is, but the one with the black and white in the beard….what is that glued to his forehead? It looks like a miniature anvil.

    That would be Bifur with an orc axe embedded in his skull — seems like weirdness for weirdness’ sake to me.

    Words cannot express how excited I am for this movie. The hair artists for the dwarves are obviously very talented. :) Also, I wish the “Hobbit Movies” app was for Android, too… :(
