Marvel Giving Us the Sweet, Sweet Poe Dameron Action We Want in New Comic Series

Marvel Comics. Star Wars: Poe Dameron. Get excited.

Poe Dameron is without question one of the breakout characters of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. You can tell by the fact that fans are putting him everywhere, from body pillows to high school AU manga – usually shipping him in one way or another. Well now, Star Wars comic veterans writer Charles Soule and artist Phil Noto are joining forces (awakening forces?) to bring us the Poe Dameron comic of our dreams.

It seems that Soule himself was immediately into Poe Dameron the day after TFA‘s release, taking to Twitter to express his admiration:

He’s glad that so many others responded to the character the way he did. According to Comic Book resources, Soule says that “people reacting to [Poe] so strongly now just feels like we’re hopefully in a great position.” And now, he gets to write this newly-beloved character. But no pressure, right? Phil Noto thinks that…well…maybe there’s a little:

I’ve seen people on Twitter and Instagram looking for Poe Dameron in the comics. Now the pressure’s on us to deliver.

Star Wars: Poe Dameron takes place in the gap between Return of the Jedi and TFA, and will introduce a new First Order villain that Soule says “is going to feel fresh and cool.” Oh, and there will totally be BB-8, don’t you worry, as well as some of the new X-wing pilots that TFA introduced.

I’m not even going to ask you “Will you be getting this comic?” My question is: are you pre-ordering this comic and immediately putting it on your pull lists, or will you wait to snag it when it comes out?

Star Wars: Poe Dameron drops in April.
