You Wouldn’t Think Twelve Minutes of Characters Being Hit By Buses Would Be This Mesmerizing, But it Is

But what I’m most surprised by really, is the number of bus hits here that are not played for laughs, though the staging, timing, and character reactions are often completely the same. Look before crossing the street, fictional characters!

Geez – Movieland is full of really bad bus drivers. Apparently all of them are too distracted or drunk to notice the person standing in the middle of the street, frequently while raving in a very visible manner.

Vehicles never make noise until they’re onscreen. I dunno why they never have the sound of the oncoming bus crescendo before it hits the person. I know it’s meant to be a surprise, but if there’s important dialogue going on at the moment, viewers would probably filter it out as background noise until the reveal.

Moral of the story: Don’t threaten anyone whilst standing in the bus lane.

You’re right, strangely mesmerizing! My favorite were the back to back Life on Mars clips.
