Could Bruce Willis Possibly Make G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation Watchable?

According to Deadline, he’s getting a chance at it:

Bruce Willis is negotiating to play the original G.I. Joe, Joe Colton in Paramount’s G.I. Joe: Retaliation. This courtship has been going on for about six weeks or more… Paramount was chasing [Willis] for the Colton role way back on July 1.

I mean, it’s not like anyone has regrets about being in the first G.I. Joe, right?

Wait, what did Joseph Gordon-Levitt say about it?

You can hardly tell it’s me. And that, to me, is the best.

Okay, haha, but he was sincerely talking about how having extensive makeup and a mask allowed him to stretch his acting muscles, I mean he –

He declined to come back for the second one? Well… I’m sure he’s just busy.

But I began this post with a question. We’re being handed an action movie with Bruce Willis and the Rock in it. We probably won’t see the like of that kind of high caliber mashup until the sequel to RED rolls around. At the very least, G.I. Joe 2 will make 6 Degrees of Kevin Bacon a bit easier.
