Hey, remember how Joanna Cassidy got back into Zhora mode for us a few years ago to recreate a missing Blade Runner scene? Yeah. Safe to say she still wants a part in the sequel.
The Hollywood Reporter caught Cassidy speaking about the film once again at the Canadian Screen Awards in Toronto.
“My thought about it is they should, because the replicants were based on real people, I think they should shoot the real people, being as they are, as humans,” she said backstage. “So I could show up, couldn’t I? I haven’t been retired.”
Whether you follow that logic or not, Harrison Ford has recently been confirmed as reprising his role as Rick Deckard in the sequel, likely to be directed by Denis Villeneuve.
Even if they don’t include her, Cassidy seems excited nonetheless. She said, “It was such a brilliant film, so telling, so truthful about where the world is going. So it will be interesting to see what the writers come up with.”
The film is being written by Hampton Fancher and Michael Green but no word on when production might begin.
