Wyoming photographer was getting ready for a photoshoot with her clients at Jackson Hole. Then, a tourist started mooing at her
She still got the job done.
Meg (@meggs_hehe), a photographer from Wyoming, went viral for calling a crowd “idiots” on social media. She explained on TikTok why she made that comment to the group of tourists at a popular destination in Jackson Hole.
“I live about three hours away from Jackson Hole, and I spend a majority of my spring and summers out there, shooting pictures of people from out of state,” Meg told TikTok. She left her house at 3:30 in the morning to prepare for a photography session with her clients at sunrise at 7:00.
“I got there. Everything’s dandy. We’re waiting for the sun to come up, and I’m looking for them, and there is this huge line of photographers,” Meg commented. Although she’s a local, Meg said this was her first time doing a sunrise shoot at Jackson Hole. As a photographer, she usually went for evening shoots.
“My clients told me it was a photography class,” she added. However, Meg said her clients didn’t have much context either, only that the crowd kept growing. While looking for her clients, Meg said two women decided to leave, allegedly commenting that there were rude people.
“This is not my first rodeo with tourists. However, this is my first rodeo with ignorant, evil, rude tourists,” Meg commented. She alleged that the tourists prevented others from going near the famous Moulton Barn. Meg claimed that a tourist, Barbara, was by the tree area. Barbara was allegedly yelling at others to turn back and stay away from the barn.
Losing her patience over tourists at Jackson Hole
“I don’t know about you, but my clients paid for a sunrise session. I’m going to do my d******** to give them a sunrise session,” Meg said. Eventually, Meg got fed up with the yelling. She continued, “If anybody comes to your state, the motive for you is to be respectful. You still have to show respect, and you still have to be kind.”
Meg emphasized that they were in a national park, which meant the location was accessible to the public for a small fee. She added, “You’re not able to dictate what people do in that area.” Meg argued that other tourists should make room for each other.
“Mind you, by the time I was going to take photos of these people in front of the barn, the sun had already risen,” Meg said. She estimated that it was already 7:15 or 7:20 in the morning, a few minutes late for a sunrise shoot. Regardless, Meg alleged that the tourists were still screaming at them to get out. She noted that these people were significantly older than she was, and some even brought their children along.
Meg called the tourists out, telling them that they didn’t own the barn. In the original clip, she said, “Did you rent the barn out?” A tourist said no, but returned the question to Meg. She snapped, saying, “You guys are actual idiots.”
“I got called so many names,” Meg alleged. She also claimed that at one point, one of the tourists started mooing at her like a cow. She continued, “I know I’m not skinny, it does look like I swallowed a basketball. I mean, you aren’t offending me.” Moreover, she was 23 weeks pregnant during the incident. Regardless, she still got to take photos for her clients, and she released the unedited takes on TikTok.
“You don’t get to be a terrible human being because you want something to go your way,” Meg commented. Despite her disgruntled experience, Meg plugged her page and said she was open for photography bookings in Wyoming. But not all tourists travel for photos. Some tourists, like this athletic pair, were in it for an adventure and a race from France to Italy..
