Woman Wakes Up to an ‘Evil, Awful Sound’ at Her Iowa Dorm. It Wouldn’t Stop Ringing for an Hour
Everyone else woke up except the person who should have.
Brie (@tinkerdoodle69420) tried to be patient with a dormmate from her college dorm in Iowa but crashed out online after they failed to turn off the alarm an hour into the ringing.
“You know what’s so [expletive] fun about college? You get your own room, you get your own roommate, and you get to live in a dorm,” Brie prefaced her story. She then flipped all the pros of living in a dorm by talking about how other people are incapable of taking care of themselves and coexisting with others.
“At 7:30 a.m., I am sleeping soundly. Soundly. When do I have a class, you may ask? 11:30,” Brie said. She claimed that she chose the class on purpose so she could sleep in every day because she wasn’t an early riser. But on the morning of August 27, she heard a blaring ‘beep, beep, beep.’ The sound wasn’t coming from her roommate’s but from the downstairs floor.
“I wake up to it, and I choose to ignore it. This is not the first time I’ve heard this stupid, [expletive] alarm, by the way,” Brie stated. It was as bad as having a neighbor ring the doorbell non-stop to beg for $20. Like that woman who chose to ignore her neighbor, Brie thought her dormmate would eventually kill their alarm.
“So, for the next hour, what do I proceed to do? I find different inanimate objects through my room to slam against the floor as hard as I [expletive] can, so maybe I can at least wake them up. Maybe they can call me annoying instead,” Brie claimed. And yet, Brie said that the neighbor didn’t wake up. She continued, “I would rather [expletive] tussle with a [expletive] than hear that alarm one more [expletive] time.”
Their neighbor at the dorm slept through the beeping
“I’m slamming my chair on the floor. I find a vacuum, slamming it on the floor,” Brie said. She even turned the vacuum, hoping that the sleeping person would hear her cleaning. But the dormmate could sleep through a war. The alarm dragged on for so long that Brie’s roommate allegedly woke up because of it. To prevent a similar situation from happening again, Brie and her roommate decided to pen a note for their dormmate to read.
“Hi, your alarm is soooo loud. It woke us up. It goes constantly, and it goes through the walls. Please get a new alarm. Thank you,” the note reads. Brie said she wanted to cuss on the note, and she was even shaking while she was reading it out loud. Nevertheless, she and her roommate intended to put the note up on their neighbor’s door.
“Right as I was about to leave that note on their door, the alarm stops going,” Brie said. She and her roommate had done all they could to wake their downstairs neighbor, and just as they were about to confront their neighbor about changing the alarm, they finally woke up. Nevertheless, Brie hoped her message would reach her downstairs neighbor on TikTok.
“What the [expletive] is preventing you from waking up to that evil, awful sound?” Brie said in a bout of anger. She added, “Turn that [expletive] off when you hear it.” The clip went viral on social media, with one commenter even telling Brie to call the cops on her neighbor as a wellness check because they refuse to wake up. Noisy dormmates are one thing, but at the very least, Brie didn’t have to call 911 on a neighbor with an ankle monitor.
