Georgia Woman’s Neighbor Asks Her For $20 for an Event. The Neighbor Won’t Stop Begging For More: ‘She Called Me 20 Times’

In an ideal world, everyone would have neighbors who are pleasant and mindful. Content creator Tasia Alexis (@tasiaalexis) from Georgia just wanted a neighbor who minded her own business. When one of her neighbors swung by asking for a donation for an event, she gladly gave $20. Since then, the same, nosy neighbor just wouldn’t stop asking for more.
“I’m not going to sit here and talk your head off for 30 minutes,” Alexis told TikTok. She’s just not the type of neighbor to chat others up. Even when another person is on their lawn, she likes keeping her distance as a sign of respect for their privacy and space. She wasn’t completely detached either—she would still interact with her neighbors if they needed something, but she likes keeping her conversations brief.
But regretfully, Alexis thinks she comes off a little too approachable for her liking. A neighbor who has been around the area longer than she has been lurking.
“When we first moved in, she didn’t like us,” Alexis noted. Apparently, the neighbor disliked that Alexis and her family were changing too many things up on their property. Other old timers in the neighborhood were also reticent to change.
“Well, hell. I bought the house,” she said, indicating that she wasn’t bothered by the opinions of her neighbors. She tried getting along with the hostile neighbor nevertheless. Alexis would try to wave and say hi out of politeness, but they would ignore her anyway (side-eye included).
An inch becomes a mile
But one day, while Alexis was checking the mail, the neighbor finally stopped by for a conversation. Instead of having a normal conversation, Alexis said that the neighbor started asking her about the owners of the house nextdoor. She was asking about what they do for a living and why they are doing so much work around the house—essentially, a bunch of things Alexis doesn’t need to give her opinion on. In her eyes, this particular, nosy neighbor is a “shit-starter.”
“But then, she started asking for money,” Alexis said. The neighbor wanted a $20 donation for a supposed “hotdog event.” Alexis stated that she and her family don’t even attend these types of events. Nevertheless, in the spirit of community, Alexis donated $20.
It would have been fine, but the neighbor started asking for donations at other neighborhood events. Again, Alexis would donate to these events regardless.
Ending on the wrong note with her neighbor
The tension would finally snap one day when the neighbor wouldn’t stop ringing Alexis’ doorbell while she was tucking her kids in bed. Annoyed, Alexis ignored the doorbells—but she was undeterred.
She came back the next day to obnoxiously ring the doorbell over and over again. When she finally opened the door, as expected, the neighbor was begging her for more donations. Alexis relented but forgot to sign the $20 check.
“Guess what? Somehow, she got my number,” Alexis revealed, adding, “She called me 20 times.” Instead of being able to rest while she was sick, the neighbor kept harassing her with phone calls from an unknown number.
Alexis eventually answered the phone.
“You forgot to sign the check!” the voice on the other end said in a confrontational tone.
“Lady, we’re sick. I didn’t come to the door because we’re sick!” Alexis has had enough of the neighbor. She told the neighbor to leave the check in the mailbox for her to sign. Alexis, to spite the woman, never signed the check. From time to time, the woman would still try to approach her—but the tables have turned. Alexis returned the cold shoulder the neighbor gave her when she just moved in.
Nobody wants neighbors from Hell, but it’s unfortunately easy to find them.
