Woman Doordashes a Chipotle Order to the Top of a Mountain to Motivate Herself to Hike, Then Gets Lost Along the Way: ‘Where am I?’
The quest for the fabled mountaintop Chipotle order.
As an unusual way to motivate herself to slip in a workout, @arielmfhadeed (Ariel) ordered food from Chipotle via DoorDash and asked the delivery person to leave it at the top of the mountain. Ariel, in a TikTok video, said she didn’t expect the Dasher to honor her wishes and assumed she wouldn’t have to go on the journey, but then he sent her a picture of the food from the location. Time to strap on those hiking boots.
“So I DoorDash Chipotle, thinking it would just be like a little funny joke. And obviously, the Doordasher isn’t going to bring it to the top of the mountain. Or so I thought. But they sent me this picture, and so now I have to walk to the top of the mountain to get my Chipotle,” Ariel explained.
Shortly after, Ariel said she had lost her way and questioned, “Where am I? I am lost. But I want my Chipotle,” before setting herself on the right path to her destination. As she walked further up, she exclaimed that her plan of “bribing” herself with Chipotle had worked, but that she wasn’t “prepared” for the work she had to put in to get to her food.
Was it still there?
After Ariel reached the top of the mountain, she initially couldn’t find her food, but then, after short seach, she saw it sitting comfortably on top of one of the highest rocks. “No freaking way,” she said, looking at it in shock, and added that she had thought the picture the delivery person shared with her was AI.
Some people in the comments section of Ariel’s video shared her shock. One user asked, “was your doordasher superman? howd they get there before you.” Another commented, “you’re telling me your doordasher will hike to the top of a MOUNTAIN and they STILL can’t find my apartment.”
Others wondered if the Dashed got a “good” tip. One user wrote, “I hope he got a good tip! thats awesome!!!” Another remarked, “That Door Dasher understood the assignment. That man does not only deserve a generous tip. He deserves a raise.”
As Ariel sat on the mountain and took a bite of the food in her hand, which she had worked very hard for, she said that she would have to challenge herself similarly a “few times a week.” As the wind swept through her hair, she said, “This is a whole experience.”
This isn’t the first time a Dasher has had to deliver something to a place they had least expected. Neither is it the first time that a TikTok involving Chipotle has gained widespread attention.
Some of the requests customers have for delivery persons are actually strange
A Reddit thread discusses some of the “most interesting” or “strange places” and orders that a delivery person has had to deliver items to. The user who started the thread shared a few of his own, including delivering food to a truck driver parked for the night on the side of a highway ramp and throwing a pizza “like a frisbee” to a guy over a 10-foot chain-link fence.
One user said he had to make multiple attempts to toss two packs of super glue to a kid hanging out of his second-story window after he broke something and wanted to fix it before his parents found out. Another said he delivered to a house that had been burnt down.
Much like these instances, Ariel’s story also shows what delivery people can expect, or rather not expect, during a normal day at work. One moment, you could be delivering Chinese food to a family living in a two-story building, and the next, you could be delivering an Ouija board in the middle of a haunted jungle.
