Woman Went on One Bad Date and Never Spoke to Him Again. He Showed Up at Her Birthday Dinner, a Bonfire in the Woods, and Her Mom’s Funeral
Most bad first dates end with an awkward goodbye. One woman says hers turned into years of unwanted encounters that continued long after she stopped responding.
The account was shared on TikTok by creator @ashleeinc after she received an email from a woman named Jade. It has drawn attention as viewers questioned how the man allegedly kept finding her after a single date.
Jade says the incidents unfolded over several years, beginning after a single dinner date and ending with one final sighting at her mother’s funeral. She claims the man repeatedly contacted her through new social media accounts before unexpectedly appearing at major moments in her life.
Then she noticed something she couldn’t explain
Jade says she first met a man identified as Preston through mutual friends when she was 17. About a year later, they matched on a dating app without her initially realizing they had met before. They met at a local restaurant, where she says she quickly decided she was not interested in seeing him again.
As the date ended, Jade says Preston asked about her childhood dog, Smokey. She says she had never mentioned the dog and assumed he found the information through old social media posts.
She says Preston continued messaging her after she stopped responding. She claims he mentioned TV shows, books and her favourite band before she unmatched him on the dating app.
Jade says Preston kept creating new social media accounts after being blocked and even posed as people she knew. She says she discovered the fake profiles after speaking with those people.
About a year later, Jade says she thought the messages had stopped. While celebrating her birthday with family at a restaurant, however, she claims she received a message asking how her pasta tasted. A second message followed moments later, telling her she could get a free dessert by telling the waitress it was her birthday.
She says she then saw Preston standing outside the restaurant’s restroom before he disappeared. Although shaken, Jade decided to continue her evening and later attended a bonfire with friends in a secluded wooded area.
While there, Jade says another anonymous account messaged her asking why she was sitting so close to one of her male friends. She says the message left her wondering whether someone was watching her in person or following the social media activity of people around her.
About a week later, Jade says someone knocked on the door while she was babysitting her three-year-old nephew. She claims Preston was outside asking to go on a date. Jade says she shut the door and called police, but officers arrived after he had left.
She says the messages stopped after that incident. She later moved to a new home and avoided sharing details about her life online because she believed it would make it harder for him to find her.
She says she saw Preston one final time during her mother’s memorial service. Jade says she noticed him leaving the church without speaking to her or sending any messages beforehand, unlike previous encounters.
Preston has not publicly responded to the allegations. Jade’s claims have not been independently verified.
Jade’s account follows other stories involving alleged stalking and online surveillance. One woman accused a first date of cyberstalking after he admitted watching her TikTok videos before they met, while another said she learned a man from her gym had allegedly been collecting photos of her.
Viewers questioned how Preston allegedly learned so much about Jade. One commenter wrote, “He hacked into her phone.”
Another simply wrote, “‘Unfollow Ashlee spooky scary story’ in the auto search bar – yeah nice try TT. How’s about eat sht – not unfollowing.” Another simply suggested, “Private investor.”
