Watch It Here: The Definitive Star Wars Fan Documentary

For A More Civilized Age

Recommended Videos

Jamie Benning has been working on his Star Wars documentaries for quite a while now. The simplest way to describe them is that they’re something of a commentary track for the original Star Wars movies. It would be more accurate, however, to mention that they don’t simply run audio and interviews from the people who made Star Wars over the films themselves, they are also interspersed with with extra footage, concept art, prop demonstrations, alternate takes and other material, edited into the flow of the movie.

And they’re all available on Youtube, free of charge to avoid copyright violations. Go on and watch: if we can’t pay Benning to reward him for his contributions to geek-kind, we can at least give him fake internet currency like views and hits.

Susana Polo thought she'd get her Creative Writing degree from Oberlin, work a crap job, and fake it until she made it into comics. Instead she stumbled into a great job: founding and running this very website (she's Editor at Large now, very fancy). She's spoken at events like Geek Girl Con, New York Comic Con, and Comic Book City Con, wants to get a Batwoman tattoo and write a graphic novel, and one of her canine teeth is in backwards.
