Virginia Server Gets Dragged by Couple Into Their Relationship Drama. Then She Became Their “Unpaid Actress”
She wasn't a member of the audience, but a part of this couple's play.
Hannah (@hannah__lynn16), a server for six years, witnessed a fight erupt between a couple she was waitressing for during her shift. What seemed like a first date gone wrong turned out to be anything but that.
“Let me tell you about the most awkward experience I’ve ever had working in a restaurant. This happened about eight months ago,” Hannah told TikTok. A man came in, sat at one of her tables, and told her that he was meeting a woman for a first date.
He ordered an Old Fashioned for himself and a strawberry margarita for his lady. But then he stopped Hannah, cancelling the lady’s order because he wasn’t sure of her preferences. The man didn’t overstep—a far cry from what this woman in New York City experienced after her date kept pushing her to order protein.
Nevertheless, Hannah agreed to cancel the strawberry margarita order and brought the man’s Old Fashioned to his table. The woman arrived 20 minutes later and, coincidentally, ordered a strawberry margarita.
“Oh, you guessed right the first time. How funny,” Hannah jokingly said to the man. But instead of laughing along, Hannah alleged that the man didn’t take the joke well. She backed off, thinking her joke didn’t land well. Later on, Hannah brought the strawberry margarita to the table, and the woman stopped her.
The server had a front-row seat to the chaotic date
“Excuse me, I’m sorry. This man didn’t tell me that he was married. I would like to pay my tab and leave,” the woman allegedly told Hannah. The server was floored but felt sympathy for the woman. Hannah agreed, commenting on TikTok, “Can you imagine the look on my face? I’m like, I would want to leave too, girl.” One woman from Colorado even confronted her nice guy date when he mentioned another girl’s name, thinking he was already in a relationship.
“So, I’m dogging this man, okay? I’m all on her side,” Hannah said. She also told the woman to leave and make the man pay for her drink. In the end, Hannah said the woman paid for her margarita and left. But 20 minutes later, Hannah alleged that the woman came back. She saw the man and woman go over by the bathroom, and they allegedly started arguing. In a twist, they came back to the table together.

“Come to find out, they have been married for 20 years, and they wanted to do a little foreplay for a date night and act like they were meeting for the first time,” Hannah claimed. He wasn’t cheating on his wife, possibly disappointing this woman who witnessed two cheating incidents in a couple of days. Instead, the man was allegedly planning to get frisky with his wife.
“Could you have let me know that? Could you have informed me of what was going on? Because I just dogged this man, thinking he was a scumbag for going on a date with you, when he was actually married to you,” Hannah said, frustrated by the experience. She alleged the couple sat at her table for two hours, leaving the server awkward and confused.
Many commenters on Hannah’s post found the situation “weird,” and some believe that what the couple did was downright inappropriate. On the other hand, some social media users had the heart to joke about the situation, commenting, “You were an unpaid actress.”
“I’m okay with you guys having fun in your relationship, but leave me out of it next time, please,” Hannah ended. But she wasn’t the only server who had a long night, as this waitress from Florida had to deal with a woman who magically expected her to procure spring water.
