Colorado Woman Met a Nice Guy at the Bar. Then He Brought Up His Ex: ‘Sorry, I’m Just Drunk’
He was a nice guy.
Morgan Roos (@morganroos96) from Colorado decided to get to know a man after he bought her a drink. But Roos abruptly left the bar, disappointed when he dropped an inappropriate comment about his ex-girlfriend while they were dancing.
“Men are so disappointing,” Roos told TikTok. It was a Saturday night, and Roos got dressed and had her makeup done before heading out in town. She said she didn’t know anybody in the town yet but went to a busy bar for a drink anyway. Alone, Roos asked the bartender for a Bacardi and Diet, then watched TV. Not long after, she felt someone tap her shoulder.
“I turned around, and this guy’s [expletive] hot. Like, hot,” Roos recalled. She said the man was 6’4″ and had longer brown hair. The man apparently recognized Roos, which was why he came up to her.
“Are you on TikTok?” the man asked, and she confirmed. Roos explained that her demographic is 90% women. She was surprised that a straight, white man recognized her from social media. The man, who appeared to be a fan, offered to buy her a shot, and Roos agreed. He then sat down beside her and started to get to know her over drinks.
Roos found out he was 23, and she joked that she was a “cradle robber.” Nevertheless, they kept talking, and Roos said he seemed kind and engaging. She thought she had found a good man, like this woman from New York City who also agreed to go on a date with a nice guy.
They were not alone at the bar
“Hold on, ladies. Don’t get your [expletive] hopes up. I can’t wait for the bomb drop here in a second,” Roos warned before continuing the story. The man started drinking faster, then asked her to dance with him. Roos commented that while they were dancing, she noticed other people were watching them.
“I keep seeing that there’s a group of guys… And they got their phones up, taking pictures and talking with each other,” Roos said. She tapped the man she was with. She asked if he knew the men, and he said they were his friends.
“It’s my buddy’s birthday,” the man supposedly replied. His friends were in the bar to celebrate. Then, the man offered to introduce Roos to his friends. While Roos was reluctant, she eventually agreed and met with them. One of the men said hi, but another friend casually called her the B-word.
“Yo, this is crazy. You’re the TikTok [expletive],” the man allegedly said. Roos didn’t walk away and replied, “I’m the TikTok [expletive], I guess.” One of them offered to do a round of shots, and Roos participated. Eventually, she had enough alcohol in her system and agreed to dance with the man again.
“The one guy I’m talking to, I enjoyed. But your friends [expletive] sucked,” Roos said in hindsight. But she also added, “Which again, sidenote, whoever they hang out with is who they are too.” Nevertheless, as she was dancing with the man, she overheard him say something that snapped her out of her daze.
His mask slipped
“Yo, Maddie’s gonna [expletive] freak when she finds out I cracked the TikTok [expletive],” the man she was dancing with allegedly said. His friend dapped him up after, and Roos immediately turned around. She asked who Maddie was. Roos was concerned, thinking that she was dancing with a man who already had a girlfriend.
“Maddie’s my ex,” the man replied. He also explained that they had recently broken up, and that Maddie was a fan of Roos. He said he and Maddie had a rule that if she was going to listen to “the TikTok [expletive],” she had to go into another room.
“Hearing your [expletive] voice all the time was getting annoying. She’s like obsessed with you,” the man added. He also allegedly expressed that Maddie was going to “lose it once she finds out I cracked her favorite TikToker.”
“First off, we’re not [expletive] cracking. I don’t know where you got that idea,” Roos replied. She was offended by the man and told him she was leaving. As she was leaving, the man tried to stop her.
Roos claimed he tried to pull the “nice guy” act, saying, “Sorry, I’m just drunk. I didn’t mean it like that.” But Roos declined his apology and told him to get away from her. The man allegedly cussed her out before walking away. Nevertheless, Roos isn’t the only influencer who had to be cautious about dating. Another woman from New York City discovered that her date studied her through her TikTok posts.
