As a Portlandian, this story fills me with joy: Surrounded by construction for Portland State University, lawyer Randal Acker did what anyone with a penchant for Pixar would do: he tied a bunch of balloons to the roof, in tribute to the movie Up.

TriMet, Portland’s public transportation system, tried to get Acker to sell the house to them a few years back, but he pushed back, gaining public support. TriMet backed off, but they had already sold the block surrounding the house to PSU for a new residence hall.

It’s all just so very Portland.
