Woman’s Uber Driver Locked the Windows, Hotboxed the Car, and Told Her He Was Taking Her to His House to ‘Shower’

A TikTok creator says she and a friend escaped a frightening Uber ride in France after their driver allegedly locked the windows, drove away from their destination, and repeatedly asked them to come back to his house so he could shower. But while viewers quickly expressed relief that the women say they made it out safely, the comment section took an unexpected turn. Viewers are fixating instead on the viral saxophone audio blasting over the video.

The clip, posted by Isabella Rosa Procida (@isabellarosaprocida), has gained widespread attention as users dissect both the alleged incident and the chaotic soundtrack layered over it.

The Ride Allegedly Takes an Uncomfortable Turn

The video opens with two women seated in the back of what appears to be an Uber in France. On-screen text reads, “when your uber driver in France starts getting dark really fast,” while the now-viral dramatic saxophone audio plays loudly over the footage.

The driver asks where they are going, and one of the women replies, “just going to the beach.”

The Situation, According to the Creator, Escalates Quickly

From there, the tone of the ride shifts. On-screen text claims the driver repeatedly asked them to go back to his house so he could shower. “Every time we said no, he kept saying, ‘No, no, listen to me,’” the overlay reads, while the driver speaks in the background, though the loud saxophone track largely drowns out his voice.

Another caption adds further context from the women’s perspective, claiming the driver began driving away from their intended destination.

“Me thinking how to escape this, he started driving away from where we were going. Mind you before this he was hot boxing the car and music was up so loud we couldnt hear eachother talk and rapping.”

“I Had to Lock In and Think of a Plan”

According to the video, the women began thinking through how to get out of the situation while still appearing calm.

One woman tells the driver they have plans at a beach club, attempting to redirect the conversation. Another on-screen caption reads, “i had to lock in and think of a plan.”

The final text overlay describes how they ultimately got out of the car.

“After this i called my family and he is taking us home and we will go somewhere different? the windows were locked, but at a red light we jumped out of the car and ran.”

Uber Says It’s Investigating the Report

In the caption of the video, the creator shared an update saying they had contacted Uber.

“UPDATE: we just got off the phone with uber and they are investigating and mentioned to make sure it doesn’t happen to others.”

Uber also responded directly in the comments:

“Hi Isabella, this situation is unacceptable, and we sincerely hope you’re okay. We’ve escalated your report to our Safety team who will contact you for an immediate investigation. Don’t hesitate to DM us if you need anything else.”

Uber has not released any further public details about the investigation.

The Saxophone Audio Becomes the Unexpected Focus

While the video’s claims sparked concern from many viewers, a large portion of the comment section quickly shifted focus to something else entirely: the dramatic saxophone audio trending across TikTok.

The sound (often used in chaotic or awkward storytelling videos) blared so loudly in this case that many users joked they couldn’t hear anything being said at all. “make the saxophones louder I can’t hear sh*t,” one comment read. Another added, “I wish you could block a sound I’m so sick of this stupid sax trend.” Others echoed similar reactions, writing, “TURN OFF THE SAXOPHONE LET ME HEAR,” and “I can’t hear anything over the music.”

“The Problem Is You’re Being Too Nice,” Viewers Say

Some viewers responded not just to the audio, but to how the situation was handled, praising the women for staying calm.

“You might’ve saved your own lives by being nicer btw aggression could’ve made this worse I’m glad u read the situation & you’re both okay!!” one commenter wrote.

Others encouraged users to take advantage of Uber safety features, including audio recording, PIN verification, and trusted contacts.

Still, not everyone agreed with the tone of the conversation. One user wrote, “The way she’s sharing a terrifying situation and yall just care abt a freaking sound,” criticizing the focus on the saxophone trend over the alleged incident.

Despite the divided reaction online, most viewers agreed on one thing: they felt relieved that the women say they were able to exit the situation safely.

But in classic TikTok fashion, the moment didn’t become a story about what allegedly happened in the car – it became another entry in the platform’s growing collection of viral audio chaos, where sometimes the loudest thing in the video isn’t the situation itself, but the sound layered over it.
